Just a few more weeks :)

Will we be given any more official info?

I know! I can't wait.

Well, I am in contact with Lions Gate again. He finally responded and asked what I needed. I sent him my questions, so hopefully he e-mails me back ASAP. I think they work better under pressure...it seems as though they are quick to help me when the date is drawing near or something. I don't know, but they are responding to me, so YAY! :D

He sent more images of the DVD. You can see the sleeve and stuff on the fansite. Hey, its something, right?

Have you asked them about the supposed commentaries?

You rock :)

What were your questions to them?

Here is my exact e-mail:

Well, I would like to have an episode list, if that's available. I would also like to know more about the special commentary. I know Peter Engel did some, but who else? Will there be another DVD release celebration? Are there any banners to promote it yet? And just any other kind of descriptions on this new set that you may have. Thank you very much in advance.

I remember the last one was somewhere in Santa Monica, I could of gone, but I didn't know about it. Hopefully, the next one will also be somewhere around the SoCal area.

The new SBTB DVD is moving up Amazon's Top Seller's list... it's currently (4/14/04) #337, I think it's selling better than the first DVD set.

The first set peaked at #36, hopefully this one will peak higher.

The DVD is about to crack the Top 100 sooner or later... it's currently #123.

Wow! That's awesome! Do you know of any retailers that will have them at their stores on the 27th? My local Wal-Mart still doesn't have the first box set...and that's the biggest department store in my town (sad, I know)

Wow... I would of imagined Wal-Mart carried it. I know that here in So Cal, the DVD is available in stores like, Best Buy, Target, Tower Records, Sam Goody, and many the others. I never been to Wal-Mart, so I don't know if the closest one to my house carries it.

Just read on a dvd forum from someone who supposedly has it already that there are commentaries on seven of the episodes, done by Peter Engel, Dustin Diamond, Lark Voorhies and Dennis Haskins. They also say episodes are mixed, like there'll be a school episode followed by a Malibu Sands episode, etc. I guess we'll all see on Tuesday.

The person said the packaging is pretty much the same as the first one: NO outer slip-case, just the digipak that holds the discs. Also NO insert, but he did say the sticker was on the outside of the plastic meaning you won't have problems tearing off a piece of the cover when you peel off the sticker.

I read that too. If you ordered yours from Amazon it should be on its way. ;)

It's finally here! Woo hoo!

If I order from Walmart.com, would it possibly ship by tomorrow? It said on the web page, order it now and it should arrive on the 27th or just after that.

I really want this the first day.......

I ordered my copy from Walmart.com thursday morning and it shipped already on friday. If my luck continues, I will get it tuesday or wednesday.

Best buy's ad has it for $35.99 (save $15 if you buy both but I already own the first one and ordered the 2nd).

But the  was the circuit city ad: $29.99!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I am crossing my fingers that my package arrives on Tuesday.

SBTBGoddess
04-25-2004, 09:59 PM
yeah and if you go to Best Buy, they price match. So if you let them know about Circuit City's price of $29.99, they will match it. :D Have a great seasons 3/4 release day!!!!

So how are these DVDs? I'm in the UK and won't have them in my hands for a few more weeks...grrr...but can anyone give me a rundown of exactly what episodes are on the disks, which episodes have commentaries, who the commentaries are by and any other special features that might be there? Thanks! :)

I haven't gotten that far yet. I only watched a few of the first DVD, by then it was nearly time for me to go to bed. Now i don't have to worry about missing SBTB M-TH at 6:00/6:30 and 11:00/11:30 AM on TBS (central time). Cause now I have all of the eps except those notorious season 5 ones.

**If there are people who DON'T want to know about the commentaries, then DON'T READ what I have below (I already ruined it for Erika on her board on accident :( ...again, sorry Erika)

....the commentaries are done by Peter Engle, Dennis Haskins, Dustin Diamond, & Lark Voorhies.

Here is a post from Erika's board about everything. Of course, this is his opinion of the DVD's...not mine.

1.The box is the same as before but the sticker is on the outside.

2.The episode order is how NBC aired them so for example you have the episode where Zach and Kelly broke up THEN the first Malibu Sands Episode then the aftermath of the breakup THEN the second Malibu Sands episode.

3.Peter Engle does 3 commentaries alone and they are horrible. He stinks by himself. He just narates the on-screen action and gives very few behind the scenes info.

4.Dustin Dimond does one commentary alone on the mYstery House episode and it is okay.

5.HOWEVER on no Hope with Dope and Rocumentary Mr. Belding, Lisa, Screetch and Peter Engle get together and these commentaries are outstanding. Funny, informative, everything you oculd want from a commenary track. Engle becomes much livlier with the other 3 making fun of him and you get a real sense that these people wern't just actors cashing in a check but a family. They goof on each other and the show but they do it with love not disdain, they even show mad love for the atmosphere kids. (These kids were as big a part of the family as the main 6 were) The cast does a commentary alone on Fake I.D's and I would rate that one a notch below hte two main ones but it is still fantastic. These commentaries are worth every penny. I'd rank them up there with Futurama and The Simpson's. Just a fantastic extra.

I'd also like to add that a lot of people are upset of the inside sleeve in the DVD's. I guess it appears that Brandon Tartikoff face is where Mr. Belding's face is on the cover...of course, there were a lot of people who didn't like the cover and people are saying this picture is even worse.

But all said and done, a lot of people are saying they love this set A LOT.

...now I just can't wait to get mine!! :D

I'm watching the Malibu Sands 1st episode. I never really liked Stacey or her father, but guess who her dad is..........he voiced either Pumbaa or Timon in The Lion King.

It's really OK Barb! LOL

The commentaries are the best ever! I am so happy about this set.....my heart is really happy!

Yes, when I opened the DVD and I saw the picture inside I was like "SHUT UP!!!!" I was so surprised. I was so upset in the car about this. It's actually quite funny....it's so noticeable!

Actually, Barb, you have it the other way around. It's Tartikoff's body with Dennis' face copied and pasted on! It's so ridiculous. I am still in shock a little. I'm also in disbelief that this kind of company can pass that picture for production.

But the disks take my mind off of it. The cover and that image is a blur to me now. I am in LOVE with the new set. I think Dennis will complain once he sees that picture. LOL

It reminds me of when Zack had to replace Jessie's face with Belding's on her body for the December slot in the "Girls of Bayside" calender. It's really that funny!

:D

Oh, OK. I didn't know he was originally in the picture, but OK. ;)

I haven't seen it yet, but judging by the cover it does remind me of the calendar LOL. (They also did that in the College Years with putting Screech's head on Slater's body LOL) But you're right, a company that large shouldn't have graphics like that. They don't seem to care at all about this box set, as of a couple days ago (I haven't checked there site out since then) they didn't even have anything about the new box set on there. I bet you they were more concerned with The Punisher that just came out...

I'm quite impressed with this DVD set, but like Dustin mentioned in one of the commentaries... bloopers will make this DVD great! Lark Voorhies is HILARIOUS in a very subtle way, Dustin is very straightforward, and Dennis is great as well- it's obvious he still sees the rest of the cast as kids :D . Peter Engle is just, eh... especially by himself, but I still praise him for making an effort to make this DVD better!

Me too. I watched almost the whole first disc on Tuesday- this is some seriously great stuff. And I totally agree, they HAVE to have bloopers. They MUST.

I agree with your whole post.
