I have collected Old Newsweek and Tv guides and like to read what was being said About the show at the time. Has anyone else done this? I have read old articles of 70's sitcoms like Jeffersons and All in the Family.

Some people think it's strange that I like to read old articles. The thing is i wasn;t old enough in 1976 to read about the Jeffersons so why would it be strange?-LOL I was only 1years old in 76.

I collect older TV Guide magazines, mainly Fall Preview and other special issues.

I still have to get the Fall preview of 1972. The Fall of 1971 is something i'm not really interested in because there were no good shows during 71-72 but All in the Family and Mary Tyler Moore.

I have the Fall Preview issues from the 1967? season up until the 2003 season, although I'm missing the 1996 FP issue for some reason. I use them at my website (http://www.tvobscurities.com), they're fantastic sources of information for short-lived shows and in many cases have some of the few images available for a particular show

but I do collect anything that is based on my favorite shows from the 1970's.i.e. old Tv Guides that featured anything on Ron or Bill Bixby; I collect Bill Bixby material as well :)

Non picked up pilots! Those are usually so campy. I have one Bill Bixby was in called "Three's a Crowd." Never heard of it until I bought it on ebay. That one probably never made a TV Guide!

I don;t think the Baby, I'm Back cast was on TV Guide Cover but there probably was a TV review in TV Guide about 5 weeks after the show premiered.

I don;t like when a seller on ebay doesn't post the MONTH and Year of the TV Guide. Most of the time it will be posted as 1974, TV GUIDE. Then i have to email the seller asking what month of 1974.

:lol: I thought the same thing, but it's more like that show Trouble with Larry. Wife and husband go on African safari, wife disappears, husband remarries only to have first wife show up. Only this guy tries way to hard to keep them apart.

Looking over my collection, I have all the Fall Preview TV Guides since 1989, and I (for some reason) have two copies of the one from 1996. The local listings are for New York City, if you want my extra copy, let me know.

I've been collecting tv guides regularly since the fall of 1983 and I have every fall preview edition since the fall of 1982.

For years I've enjoyed reading through older issues of Tv Guide (which I've been collecting off and on for almost 20 years), magazines, newspapers, anything I could get my hands on. It's always been a kick for me.

You need to look around. :mooner: I managed to find some TV Guides for less than $15 that are from 1975 and earlier.

Add another new one to that collection - I got my TV Week from 1975 with the TCBS crew on the cover in the mail today. :D

Yeah...but IMO, I prefer the Old TV Guides website...They have a MUCH better section of the stuff I want than eBay...eBay rarely ever has the TV Guides I'm looking for, so I'm willing to fork over the $ for the ones I want. It's the same thinking as shopping at Target and Suncoast for DVD's - Target has cheaper DVD's, but a smaller section than Suncoast. Suncoast has a HUUUUUUUGE section, but their DVD's are usually more expensive. That's OK, I have a membership with them anyway and get discounts on whatever. :D
