The Big House had a disappointing 3.8/7, lower than Married to the Kellys average. Hopefully next week it does better with Reginald VelJohnson and Jo Marie Payton of Family Matters fame guest starring.

I liked the show. It's too bad the ratings weren't better, especially as much as they've promoted it. Pavanbadal, I'd also be interested in knowing the numbers for George Lopez to see how much of a drop-off of audience, if any, there was.

I think George Lopez got a 4.3/8, much lower than it usually does. Maybe Dateline stole the audience or the return of Joan of Arcadia, it didn't air the last two weeks, because of NCAA Basketball.

From what I saw this show has potential. It's funny and it has some heart, but here in NYC the critics trashed it mercilessly. Also, putting this on Fridays is a bad idea. A lot of people don't stay home to watch TV on Friday night, especially now that spring is here. I have a feeling this is going to get axed after 6 shows.

One quesion: Who is Faizon Love in this show? He is way older than Kevin Hart and too old to be the son of Arnetia Walker and her husband on the show. He must be at least 35 in real life.

It's not going to do any better because it's spring time and the show comes on friday night and well you know the rest.

You read the Daily News? I was expecting something real bad just readin that guy's review and the show was nowhere near as bad as he made it out to be. That same critic also gave the Tracy Morgan show one of the most horrible reviews I ever read. The Big House was fine to me.

Hey Vashti:

I read the Daily News and The Post reviews. Both hated the show, but it's not so bad from what I saw. These critics have a select taste that is lacking in flava if you know what I mean. They praise stuff like Frasier and Friends and The Mary Tyler Moore Show, shows that they can relate to. Many a show that the critics didn't like have succeeded. The problem with this is that its on Friday night. I bet it gets cancelled. But maybe UPN will adopt it.

Well that's not true about critics all the time. The crtics LIKED That's My Mama back in September of 1974 and you know what ABC did to that show a year later.

Hey Solomon:

What did the critics say about That's My Mama? I have only a vague memory of that show rom 74-75. I don't know if it got bad ratings or if ABC just threw it out?

Well THat's My Mama never was in the top 30. But the TV critic liked the show. He said that

1.The location of the Show was a good location-Washington D.C

2.The women who played Mama was a Fine actress.

3.The Daughter on the show was a very attractive and independent women.

4.THe characters of the show handled situations with taste and tact

This show is not so bad at all. I'd never heard of Kevin Hart, but he has personality and is energetic enough to carry a show and the supporting players are good. The heart of the show seems to be the relationship between he and his Aunt Tina. In the episode that was on last night she said she was the head of the house (huh? What does that make her husband?) Hart seems to be basing this show on his real life. Faizon is amusing but I still think he's too old to be Arnetia's son.

As for the 2 earrings a lot of guys wear that style. It doesn't mean they're gay it means they consider themselves to be playboys.

The NY Daily News critic compared Hart to Chris Tucker, but I can't see Tucker doing a TV series. At least not a family show like this.

Still this show is on in a poor timeslot, so enjoy it, tape it while you can because I doubt it'll last. Maybe UPN or WB might pick it up.

I didn't see Kevin Hart doing a show like this either, after seeing his movie Paper Soldiers. Big House is more of a safe, family show that what I would have expected. First time I ever saw Kevin was in Paper Soldiers and thought his character was real funny, maybe some of that will come out on The Big House if it lasts long enough. Rent Paper Soldiers and check out his energy there, he carried that movie.

Way better than "Married to the Kellys" -- and if one of them is picked up -- it better be this.

I like this a lot more than "The Tracy Morgan Show" -- and Ive never even heard of Kevin Hart, whereas I really liked Tracy Morgan on SNL

this show is not funny first of all. big house is just garbage. this show should be cancelled right away before people start getting frustrated again.

I like this show, but I wouldn't be surprised if it gets axed because of low ratings. Kevin Hart said in an interview that the show was supposed to have started up like a year ago, but they kept pushing it back. He said things happen for a reason. Well, if this gets axed that might be a sign that the actors need to be doing something else with their time.

Also, the guy who plays the youngest child has very little dialogue I notice. It seems he's just around to justify having Kevin live in the cellar with Faizon Love.

It is weird that they have that character so completely under-developed. If this show lasts, he may end up disappearing like Judy on "Family Matters." They don't seem to have anything for him to do.

That kid never acted on tv before, so maybe his skills are limited or something.

I read that this was like a Fresh Prince of Bel-Air in reverse. It is! The Fresh Prince was good and this is bad! Not Funny! :(

this show is not like fresh prince of bel-air.
big house does not make you laugh, this show makes you puke. i told you guys. this new show is garbage and thats that.
every character on big house should just quit because they are not amusing, they are so annoying and just a waste of space on abc just like all the other new shows that have been on this channel ever since 1996. Abc is not like what it used to be.
