It looks as if Movies will be taking over the CBS Saturday Night schedule in the Fall of 2004. TV Guide reports Hack and the District are on the verge of being cancelled due to the network losing money from airing first run shows on Saturday Nights. Through the years ABC and NBC have shifted from airing first run programming to movies and re runs of previous week shows. This change will probably mark the end of the CBS Sunday Movie in which CBS could devote the 2 hours to dramas to add some competition for ABC and NBC.

CBS is testing the District on Friday Night on April 2 which could mean that the District will head to Friday Nights in the fall.
