Will 8 Simple Rules be returning for a second season on ABC? I'm just wondering if ABC has made that decision. Because the show has done horrible ever since American Idol was back.

I don't think ABC has renewed to many shows yet but they added 2 additional episodes for the season so thats a good sign and ABC doesn't have to many top 20 hit series. They don't have many hits at all but 8 Simple Rules is one and Ratings will probably pick up again in the summer.

Right now, I'd say a 95% chance it will be back. It'll be 100% by mid next month when they officially announce it. Right now, ABC is making plans to bring back 8 Simple Rules, According to Jim, My Wife & Kids, and Hope & Faith back next season. Everything else has a 50-50 shot, with Less Than Perfect or George Lopez the front runners in that bunch. The shows with the lowest shot is probably The Big House or Married to the Kellys.

I think 8 Simple Rules and George Lopez are the best sitcoms on ABC. I do like My Wife & Kids and It's All Relative but IMO MW&Ks has lost it's humor I just watch it out of habit now.

Personally I can't stand Hope & Faith. Kelly Ripa is just so annoying to me now I watched her for a long time on AMC and even I gave up on that show too and yes I know she's been off that show for a while.

I Agree I think that 8 Simple Rules must come back simpley beacuse ABC is only Big four that does not have a show in the top 20 The only show that ABC Has in the top 20 is Monday Night Football and 8 Simple Rules is one of abc highest rated shows I know the rating took a huge drop after the Fairwell Shows of John Ritter but is still one of the highest rated Show

It's most likely 8SR will come back. I hope ABC could move 8SR to a timeslot that is not affected by American Idol.

I believe it will come back...its too good of a show to just stop there.:happyface

I think it will come back for a 3rd season. I got a good gut feeling, besides John Ritter would have wanted that way.

Sorry but I disagree with your comments about Kelly Ripa. I've been a longtime fan of hers, and she's done some really great work on AMC. And now I like watching her in the mornings with Reeege and find her really funny and over the top in Hope and Faith. :D

I wouldn't worry about it not being renewed it is in abc's top 6 Best Shows

1)8 Simple Rules
2) Jim
3)George Lopez
4)My Wife and Kids
5)Life with Bonnie
6)Hope and Faith
and I think The Big House will do good next season.....
