Ozzy & Sharon were just on Larry King Live and announced that Kelly has entered rehab. A London tabloid called them this morning and told them they had a picture of Kelly making a drug deal and she admitted to her parents that it was true

That poor family has been through so much :(

Kelly Osbourne enters rehabilitation for drug use


WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Heavy metal rocker Ozzy Osbourne and his wife Sharon Friday said their 19-year-old daughter Kelly entered a California drug rehabilitation clinic earlier in the day to grapple with her abuse of painkillers.

Sharon Osbourne told CNN's "Larry King Live" the couple confronted their daughter early Friday after the family was contacted by an English tabloid seeking comment on a picture in which Kelly appeared to be buying drugs.

"She admitted it after a lot of twisting," she told CNN. "Literally, a couple of hours ago, she was admitted to rehab."

She said their son, Jack Osbourne, who underwent substance abuse treatment last year, took Kelly to Promises Drug & Alcohol Rehabilitation Addiction Center in Malibu, California.

Ozzy Osbourne, an admitted drug addict and alcoholic who has spent time in rehabilitation clinics himself, said he had asked Kelly repeatedly if she used drugs, but she denied it.

"I can't believe we were buying into it," he said. "The amount of pills I found in her bag was astounding."

The Osbournes were slated to appear on the CNN program to promote the third season of their reality TV series "The Osbournes," but decided to reveal their latest family trauma.

"As usual with the Osbournes, you never know what's going to happen next," Sharon Osbourne told CNN, saying she was angry, upset and beginning to wonder if the family was cursed.

Ozzy Osbourne is still recovering from an accident on an all-terrain vehicle that left him in a coma for eight days. The rocker shot to fame in the 1970s with Black Sabbath and remained in the public eye after he launched a solo career.

In recent years, his popularity has reached new heights with the success of the hit MTV reality series, in which he stars with Sharon, who had been battling colon cancer, and two of his three children.

Kelly and Ozzy Osbourne briefly landed at No. 1 on Britain's singles chart with their duet of the Black Sabbath classic, "Changes," last December.

Proof that fame ruins people. At least her folks made her and her bro go into rehab and kick the habit.

Ugh, that's awful. I hope things can get better for them. They have been through a lot of crap. :(

that's not fair. You can't watch your kids all the time especially since they are adults and you can't control them. Kelly is 19 she shouldn't have to have her parents watch her at all time.

At first I thought they meant chemo(cancer) stuff... My brain totally stopped tonight. :o :rolleyes:

When the show started and they said they had a family announcement I thought Sharon was gonna tell us that the cancer was back. I'm relieved that it's not and I hope Kelly can get through this and lead a better life.

apples and oranges. There's a huge difference between 2 adults going into rehab and an adult molesting little children.

They've had lots of crap in their lives. But that or not, it doesn't make her a bad mother because of that. All teenagers are dumbasses like that and do those things. Usually the parents don't even know.

Well that is just wrong wrong wrong. Having children in rehab has absolutely nothing to do with being a good parent or not. Good parents have kids with addiction. Bad parents have kids with addiction. Did you ever think that addiction runs rampant in that family? Look at Ozzy. He's struggled with it forever. It's often genetic.

Oh wow, an Osbourne in drug rehab. It was bound to happen. That entire family just screams, "ALCOHOL! DRUGS!" It's no surprise. The Osbournes are just trashy anyway.

And why are some of you saying, "Oh wow, I feel so sorry about it." Why the hell would you feel sorry about it? Like your sympathy matters. I don't feel bad about it at all. I knew it was going to happen. It's really not a shock.

Not to sound callous and unfeeling, but I'm really not surprised that she got into drugs. That's not to say that I don't think it's a shame and a waste, but I just think it was bound to happen. JMO.

Why yes, yes you did. :) I'm a teenager, I see them in school everyday. Doesn't mean necessarily all of them are on drugs (although probably about half of them are) I'm just saying, we're pretty stupid in general.

Sharon is the biggest media whore on the planet. She JUST HAD to go on Larry King to annouce to the world that her talentless, fat, obnoxious kid is going into rehab. Who freakin' cares? :happyface :crazy: :p

At least Sharon didn't dangle her kids from hotel balconies and make them wear surgical masks outside. Anyone's kids can get into drugs...it's too easy nowadays.

I'm not usually one to defend the Osbournes, but they were actually booked to be on Larry King Live beforehand, to discuss the new season of their show.

What the heck is with these kids? You'd think they would have learned to stay away from drugs by seeing what it did to their dad. Anyways, It's good to see the parents being supportive and the kids getting help while they are still so young. Hopefully drugs won't be a lifelong problem for them.

I wouldn't really call myself a fan of the Osbourne's. I find reality TV boring so I don't make an effort to watch their show but I don't mind them. I feel sorry for Kelly, I hope she sorts herself out.

Kelly is really pretty. Also talented. I really liked her Papa don't Preach video of Madonna's old song. What a shame. I hope she gets better.

Yeah Kelly is pretty. I like that she's proved you don't need to be stick thin and blonde to make it. She has a good voice and is talented. My favourite song of hers is "Changes" that she did with Ozzy. I love that song. :)

Sharon announced today 4-9-2004 at the 1st 5 minutes of today's show that Kelly was in rehab. Also that she did not know Kelly was as bad into drugs. Also 2 hours after they found out from the English tabloids, Kelly was in rehab. Also Sharon's publicity people told her to say the dealer was Kelly's ex - boyfriend and he was giving her back her cell phone. They made up other stories.
Good for Sharon for telling the truth and not trying to hide things from her fans and admiting their real problems.

IMO, I think that maybe the family should stay out of the spotligh right now so that they can concentrate more on their family and the problems that their kids maybe having. I hope that Kelly gets through this. She still has her whole life to live.
