...strangers ask you personal questions that are absolutely none of their business like how old you are and stuff like that? It drives me crazy! I get customers at the store who think it's OK to ask me dumb questions like that, then they whine and complain that I'm rude and have an attitude when I refuse to answer

Lol, you refuse to answer? You're only 22. Do you really get asked that a lot? I know some people can really seem like nosy itchy arses, but I guess I never thought some of those small-talk questions were a big deal.

I can think of one I don't like. I don't like being asked about school because I hate school. Well, I don't mind talking about it at all on here, but I just hate it always being the first thing people want to say to me--like relatives I haven't seen in a long time.

It really doesn't bother me when people ask me those questions. I usually answer.

I have always been a fairly private person . But the older I get the more I ask questions! If these people asking you questions are really interested don't be too hard on them! I find myself doing the same thing because I truly am interested in knowing about people. Someday you will realize this. All too soon my girl, believe me! I thought I would never be that way but I am!:p

as I get older and more senile, i dont find myself asking strangers more questions - not yet, anyways.

well except for maybe something like "would you mind not standing on my foot?" - or - "how long do you have to not shower to develop that unique fragrance you are exuding?"

For me it's work, It doesn't even matter whether or not I like work at the time. It's just always the first thing out of their mouths. I just say "It's good" or "good".

Who wants to talk about Work/School when you're not there.
especially on vacation or a weekend.

Questions don't bother me...it's stares. And guys I think are gross that flirt with me. I don't care if they wanna know how old I am...just don't stare at me!!

once people learn about my surgery I get alot of questions and people would talk to me at work when I got back that I had never talked to before. I so wanted to say "I'm doing well thank you, who the hell are you?" LOL

I usually don't mind answering questions until the conversation starts to turn a little too personal.

I work as a DJ at a radio station. I protect my privacy greatly when I'm talking to a listener on the phone however. They always seem to want to know personal things. You never know who could be waiting outside when the shift is over!

YES, I HATE IT VERY MUCH!!!! I work in a store too and people are soo damn nosey. Well, probably not everybody, but I live in a small town and everyone knows everyone else's business, but I don't want people knowing mine. I get so mad because I'll be trying to do something and customers keep asking me questions. They usually know my mom so therefore they think they're obliged to ask me anything they want  They always ask, "Why aren't YOU in college now?!" "I thought you were going to college!" "Why are you still working here?" "YOu can't work here the rest of your life." "What do you want to study?" "Do you not have enough money to go to college?" It's awful!!!! People must have a lot of balls to ask me all these personal questions THAT AREN'T ANY OF THEIR BUSINESS  When I was running the cash register, one woman pestered me about college until I told her to leave me alone-it's ridiculous! I'm not stupid-they don't need to tell me what to do, and if I wanted to work at Foodland for the rest of my life, I would! Also, another lady kept telling me to smile...Everytime she came in, she told me to smile. WTF!? I guess I look like a hateful beeotch or something, but I finally told her that if I smiled constantly, I would look insane, so that shut her up. Gawd, what's wrong w/ people? Just leave well enough alone. Recently, this old guy keeps asking me if I'm married or when I'm gonna get married. ARRRGH!!!! One of these days, I'm gonna snap and start throwing various produce items at people. It'll be just like a drive by fruiting.

The only thing I find irritating is hearing "Were you really born in 1974?" followed by the "I don't believe you, but if you say so" look on their face.

Anyway, other than that the little questions people tend to ask don't bother me all that much.

This kind of indirectly applies...but when I was at my low point with my anxiety, people would ask about me and my folks would say what was wrong with me...and that always freakin lead to these people telling my parents, well, you should make her do this, or you should do that. &%@$! stay out of my life! None of those idiots had a *&@# clue how I felt, yet they walk around handing out advise like a damn therapist.
