I babysit a 4-year-old girl but only when she is with her father. She's been with her mother for about 3 weeks and her father said her mother was bringing her back yesterday and they were on their way to Ohio from Kentucky and that he would need me to babysit her on Thursday (Today) since he leaves for his job early in the morning I have to spend the night at his house.

So last night I suspect that this is going to be an April Fools Joke and that the child isn't really going to be there. But I better go anyway just on the off chance that she really is going to be there. So my mom drops me off after 11 pm and grabs the envelope that he leaves for her so she can make copies of the contents and leaves. I look around the house and I notice that the door to the child's bedroom is open only enough to stick your head through the door and the gate was up in the doorway. (The door is usually left wide open) Also two body pillows were on the back of the couch instead of on the floor around the childs bed in case she falls out. No coats of hers were on the coat rack, no clothes were in the laundry basket, no shoes on the floor. All these indications that the child was not here. This little girl usually makes some noise when she's sleeping (talking in her sleep, moving around, sucking her thumb) There was no noise. So I went to her room to peek in the door and it's pitch black and I can't see anything so I go to bed.

Early in the morning when the alarm went off he didn't turn it off right away and he made a lot of noise that would have woken the kid up. He left for work.

I woke up around 7 in the morning now it's light enough that I can see in her room so I go peek in again and now I can see something under a comforter which wasn't a big deal since she sleeps like that so no one can see her under the blanket.

He comes in at 7:45 and makes a whole lot of noise which would have definitely woken up the kid if she wasn't up already and she usually is up by 7:45. He leaves again I get up and go to her room and this time I take a corner of the covers and lift it up to look underneath and it is a doll a big stuffed piglet and a note written on half of a file folder "HA HA ! April 1st No Backs"

I called my mom and told her then I took the tape out of his VCR and switched it with another one (he tapes everything on NBC at night and leaves it recording til it shuts off and rewinds itself) I put a note on the real tape which he'll figure out when he fast forwards through the wrong tape. Then my mom calls at 9 am and asks if he is back yet I say no and she says don't tell him that you called me.

9:45 he calls and asks me if the child is up yet then he says HA HA HA HA HA HA April Fools and I tell him I had already figured it out last night and when he got home 15 min later he admitted that he did a bad job setting it up.

He takes me home and I call my mom to see what she did (remember the copies) she copied the ones he wanted but then she made extra ones and put the real ones in a different envelope.

The things he wanted copied was some form for the IRS and where it said name she put April Fool.

Then there was some other papers that he uses for work (he scans upc's at the grocery store) the paper had the names of different kinds of juice so she changed the name of all the juices to April Fool juice or April Foolsberry or April Foolery. When he comes to pick up the copies she is going to give him the fake ones in the hopes that he will not look at them until he gets home and have to come back to get the real ones.

A few years ago he had my sister come to his house while he was gone and wait for the FedEx guy to come pick up a package she waited all day and the FedEx guy never came so when he got home he told her to open the package and it was a peice of paper that said April Fools.
