What ie everyone's favorite Star Trek movie? Mine is The Wrath Of Khan, because it has everything that a good movie should have. There's action, humor, great character moments, suspense, you name it, TWOK has it.

Undiscovered Country beat out The Wrath Of Kahn in my book (although, only slightly...)

My favorite is First Contact followed closely by The Wrath of Khan.

Star Trek IV the voyage home was the best of them all because it dealt with problems we face today, and sent a message to everyone that the humpback wales are about gone, and who knows what will happen when they are, maby an alien wont come looking for them but it may do something to the food change.

Recently one of the movie channels has been running "First Contact" and I think right now it's my favorite.

This choice will of course change any minute now.

First Contact hands down. The Wrath Of Kahn was good too. But i'm more of a TNG fan than TOS.

For me, it was a toss-up between "The Wrath of Khan" and "The Voyage Home"
but I voted for "The Voyage Home." It had the most humor and a good (but
not preachy) ecological message. Trivia note: 7TH HEAVEN stars Stephen
Collins and Catherine Hicks both appeared in ST films (he in "ST the Motion
Picture" and she in "The Voyage Home").

As I said in my last post, my choice for best Star Trek film changes often, right now, I'm gonna give some props to Star Trek: The Motion Picture, the very first film that started the whole movie franchise.

Sure, it's a half an hour too long, and it drags in some spots, but I still think it's a great film. It has an interesting plot, and it's nice to see the crew reunited for the first time.

The entire "flyby" scene when Kirk and Scotty approach the Enterprise with Jerry Goldsmith's new theme music playing makes the whole movie worthwhile.

In 1978, "Star Trek the Motion Picture" was the first movie that I had seen in a
theatre in nearly a decade. But I don't think that I have seen it since. So, my
memories of it are a bit hazy.

I agree with TJL about your favorite changing all the time.

Star Trek II was my favorite forever- I even saw a preview of it in NYC back in 1982- waited in the most godawful line I'd ever seen.

When I saw the movie I was blown away.

Only other time I was blown away more was for Star Wars and Empire. (as far as movies go ;) )

Now that I think of it, this movie is responsible for making Return of the Jedi a letdown for me. With all the dorky Ewoks and corny dialogue, I was left a bit flat after experiencing ST II with all of its great elements of plot, dialogue, humor, and action weaved so perfectly together.

Wow, and I just called Ewoks dorky.
Look at me.

I think I might outdork them.

The Motion Picture is a very underrated movie. I love it. Also, Jerry Goldsmith's score is one of my all time favorite move scores.

Jerry Goldsmith's score is one of my all time favorite move scores.

Mine too. As much as I love John Williams' work on the Star Wars movies, Goldsmith's Star Trek theme is the best.

I have the special edition of The Motion Picture soundtrack that was released in 1998 and I listen to it all the time. It's great.

I seen it and enjoyed it, too bad it didn't do that well at the box office.

I didn't realize how much I liked the movie until I rewatched it a few weeks ago, for the first time in years.

Nemesis is very underrated. I think it was better than Insurrection.

The Voyage Home. Followed closely by The Wrath Of Khan.

I chose those even though I like TNG better than the original series. But the TNG movies just haven't impressed me at all, really.

Okay, once again, I am changing my opinion.

Insurrection has been runing on the movie channels recently, and I have to admit, it is a pretty decent Star Trek movie.

There is lots of fun interaction between the characters; they all act more like good friends than Starfleet officers on assignment.

The cast looks like they had lots of fun making this film.

I agree with all of that. I just found it didn't live up to "First Contact." Actually, "Insurrection" felt like a normal two-part TNG episode, IMO.
