I remember watching this show in the early 80s on CBS and it was OK to me. I'm more familiar with the later seasons so I can't say much about whether or not the quality declined. You guys who post on this board are much more fans of this show than the people who post on jumptheshark.com where they trash this show mercilessly. I don't think I counted more than 3 positive things that people had to say about this show there. It's like they take pride in dissing the show and seeing who can come up with the ripest insults about the show or Bonnie Franklin's acting, her lack of a bra etc. The show must've had something going in it's favor if it lasted 9 years in prime time. Plus the guy who played Schneider won an emmy in the very last year and it won a directing emmy very late in its run also. The people who post here seem to be more the type who post about shows they like and don't waste time spewing about stuff they didn't. To me the whole concept of jumptheshark sets things up for a negative bunch of rants.
