Hey all.

I've never watched the show on cable so i don't know if they do it there, but in local syndication here in nyc they always skip over certain episodes. I notice they never show the three two part episodes from the last year: Honeymoon in LA, the Thanksgiving episodes when Whitley's mother dates the younger guy and the finale. Is there something about these episodes that would make them less airable? I was guessing that the Honeymoon episodes might have some sort of contractual issue because several stars like Roseanne have cameos in it and maybe they'd have to cut her a check every time it plays. Maybe the same is true for Diahann Carroll and/or Patti Labelle who are in those other episodes. Yet they show several other episodes with Labelle and/or Carroll in them. Is this unique to WOR in NYC or has anyone who watches the show in another area noticed this skipping pattern?

It's unfortunate for me because I've never seen the finale straight through from beginning to end or those Thanksgiving episodes at all.

When the show aired on TBS the first season was never aired. I hated that so much.

Maybe TBS assumed people weren't as interested in year one as in years 2-6. Here in NYC they just aired the last of the year 1 episodes this morning. It's on 2x a day in the mornings and sometimes as filler on the weekends but because they skip over episodes it seems like every time I turn it on they're recycling the same episodes. Last year it seemed like they showed some episodes 5 times.

TBS did air the first season of A Different World at least twice because I taped the whole series off TBS. I missed an episode from season 1 the during its first rotation, so when TBS went back to season 1 the second time around I taped it.

I'm talking about during the fall of 2002.

It's unique to WOR because those episdoes have aired on Oxygen. I've been trying to get all 144 episodes on dvd and I'm around 10 episodes incomplete because Ch. 9 keeps skipping those episodes. I'm about to email them and complain about it. I don't record the Oxygen broadcats because they insist on putting crap on the screen advertising other shows while the DW episode is in progress. I hate that.

I actually did send an email to UPN9 recently mentioning that I've been a faithful watcher of ADW on their channel, I know alot of people who watch, blah blah blah. They didn't respond to the email, so I'm just hoping they respond with their actions and show all the episodes. That's bascially what I asked them, if they could broadcast all of the season 6 episodes and not skip any. They're showing season 5 episodes now and I'm hoping they show all season 6 episodes so I can finally complete my collection.

UPN9 is finally showing the Honeymoon in LA episodes this Thursday morning. This will be the first time I've seen them on Channel 9 since I've been watching their ADW broadcasts. They're still not showing episodes in sequence though. They're showing the episode where Whitley and Dwayne move their furniture in the apartment on Tuesday, then they're showing the Saved The Best For Last episodes on Wednesday.

I noticed that they would air the Honeymoon episodes on Thursday. Your e-mail must have worked, Vashti.

I saw those episodes years ago but not the very beginning or the ending when Freddie and Ron make out. Ironically they were among the very few year 6 episodes I had seen until the show began airing in reruns on the local NYC Fox channel back in 2000.

I would like to see the Thanksgiving episodes from year 6. Those and Lean On Me are the only year 6 episodes I have neve seen. I saw the finale in bts ad pieces but never saw the part where they ll sig End of the Road.

It looks like this series is leaving local syndication in the NYC area after next week. It was my favorite show on the air this year or last of any show either new or old. I'm glad I got to see most of those last season episodes that they kept skipping over including the Thanksgiving episodes and the 2 part finale which aired 2x last week. The ending was just as good as any other episode form the Debbie Allen era. Good series. Looking at the recent fall preview issue of TV guide I am bored to death with these upcoming shows. I'll pick dvds of the old Norman Lear series over these new things any day.
