View Full Version : George Clooney
I was reading a FOL reunion update today about who from the show will return for it. I was sorry to hear of George Clooney's comments. When asked if he would return he said something like "They fired me, so screw them" I really would have been surprised if he was coming back. I think since he is such a mega star now that he wants to forget FOL. Yet another star full of himself. I hate attitudes like that. So he's not going to be in the reunion, no surprise there but he didn't have to be so nasty about it.
No offense to all who adore him, he's a fine actor but I've really never thought he was all that looks wise. And he seems very arrogant to me. But that's just my opinion!
Max Whittaker 08-27-2001, 05:38 PM I agree. He should not have said that. It wasn't right.
a NaNcY FaNaTiC 08-27-2001, 05:50 PM I don't think that comment was appropriate either. He could've just left it at the fact that he was fired cuz that would've been enough.
ISmellFine 08-27-2001, 08:03 PM That was uncalled for... He didn't have to make a nasty comment about it. Nancy didn't! She just said she didn't want to be remembered as Jo. Simple as that. Yeah, he was fired...everyone gets fired from something sometime...but I hate attitudes like that too.
BTW...this is my 800th post...YAY!

Normal people are the ones you don't know.
On April 24, 2008, Dana and I are going to meet in LA and handcuff ourselves to Nancy McKeon and Jay Harrington, and you're not. Ahahaha!
Jinny: Oh, come on, folks, please, don't be shy. Apparently anyone is welcome to crap all over me tonight, so please, step right on up!
Notice: If you copy me, I will be forced to send you to the outermost reigons of the pig where you will suffer miserably, for I am Jinny: Queen o' the Pigs and Penguins!

angel676 08-27-2001, 09:04 PM Picture this, you were on a tv show for
about 1 or 2 seasons, then all of a sudden you were fired, given the axe.
Would you return to that tv show to be
in a reunion, knowing you were fired
from that job. I don't blame George
Clooney for saying that. That's just me though!
JoJoJoJoJoJoJoJoJo 08-27-2001, 09:18 PM I think George Clooney got fired cause in FOL he really did such as an actor...he got a little bit better in his last seasons or so...but he wasn't that great of an actor back then, I mean, don't get me wrong, I fell in love w/ him in "Brother where art tho'" and he is SUPER FINE but did he actually think the road to where he is now was going to be easy? Everyone was going to love him in the begging? No, we've all heard that the road in acting is a rough one. I don't think he should of said "They fired me, so screw 'em!" that's kinda babish if you ask me. He could of just said something like "I don't really have too many ties to FOL" or something else...i mean, he dind't have many ties to FOL, ya gotta admit. Th'ats just my opion.
nancysbiggestfan 08-27-2001, 09:41 PM That remark was totally uncalled for. I may not have came back either after they fired me. But its not like he was some great actor when he was on FOL. He was too...fake. Yeah, now he's a big actor but then, he wasnt a very good. Everyone isnt good at that at first now he's a good actor. But then no way. Im sorry but thats the truth. IMO, not to be rude or anything, but if they fired him when he was on 'facts' becuz of his acting skills, they had good reason to do it.
I, personally, don't have anything against George Cloony, never have...but thats the truth IMO.
Sorry if I offended anyone, I didn't mean to.

Peace Out!
Teddy: Hey, I'm making you an offer you can't refuse.
Jinny: Look, you know who I am, OK? You know who my family is. Why do you even wanna be with me at all?
Teddy: Because, I love you.

Jinny: Basically, people are who people are. Your born, you die pretty much the same person. All the rest is just window dressing.

Acting Girl 19 08-27-2001, 09:54 PM Thats true most actors are not very good in the begining. Look at Mindy, you could tell she got better in time.
Do you know if andy will be in the reunion?

Ya but there going to have a couple of the first season girls on the reunion and they agreed to do it so I don't know.
ThomasE 08-28-2001, 08:33 AM It seems like George is carrying some type of grudge if he said that. I mean it has been 14 years since his last appearance.
TV Guy 08-28-2001, 12:57 PM I'd be curious to hear what kind of tone George Clooney used when he said that. He may have just been trying to be funny. I've always heard that he's pretty nice and down to earth.
Who needs him for the reunion, anyway?
Kay Scarpetta 08-28-2001, 02:08 PM I think it's better off without him anyways...

I don't think we disagree with his decision not to appear. We're upset with his side comment. Plus, he was fired cuz there was really no purpose for him. As an actor, he should've realized that.
I was also wondering if he meant it jokingly or if he was actually bein' serious.

I would assume he was being serious, when he said that. I mean, when people get fired, they will be mad and will say
harsh things. I'm sure that George Clooney won't forget about his days on
FOL and when the media had heard about
the FOL reunion and asked him if he would
be in the reunion, it probably brought
back good and bad memories, so he could
have made that remark just out of spite.
Or, the media caught him on a bad day.
Who knows! That's just my thought!
ThomasE 08-29-2001, 08:29 AM Well it would be nice to see him in the reunion.
coily2 08-29-2001, 08:22 PM George Clooney has always made his "nasty" comments about FOL in a very toungue-in-cheek tone. I don't blame his comments. Would anyone even be talking about him being part of the reunion if he wasn't such a big star? Nobody is talking about that girl Kelly or the Cassidy kid being brought in for the reunion. Why? Because their characters didn't work. And neither did George. The only reason they are interested in him is for what he has done since the show. That is not fair to him, and he is totally justified.
TV Guy 08-30-2001, 12:40 AM Very well said.
Hey, you don't think they would want Kelly back because of what Pamela Segall has done since FOL? After all, she is the voice of Bobby on "King of the Hill". http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif Guess she's not quite in the same league as George.
FOL & DS fan 4ever 08-30-2001, 02:26 AM In a way, I don't blame him for being bitter either. It's amazing, though, that Julie Piekarski and Felice Schachter are not bitter.
