Sorry, I don't like this one at all. I'm glad my mother's not a robot, even though that means she'll die someday. I'm not happy that she'll die someday, of course, but I'm still happy she's not a robot.

Besides, a robot granny would have all sorts of mechanical malfunctions, etc., which the episode didn't deal with realistically at all. And the show closes with a seriously lame epilogue in my opinion. One of my Bottom 10.

But, to end less harshly, differences of opinion are OK in my book. I believe every TZ episode has something that appeals to someone, even if not to everyone.

I saw this one last week. I like this episode, but I can never get over the fact that David White, who was a regular on Bewitched is in this episode. I always think what is Larry Tate doing on the Twilight Zone.

I love this ep too! Didn't this one inspire a holiday movie from the 70's or 80's called the Electric Grandma? does anyone remember that?

Maybe he went there to find Samantha (Two), Darrin (A Penny for Your Thoughts), and Endora (The Invaders).

On a more serious note, I always liked this ep and thought it was touching. Maureen Stapleton starred in a remake of this show for NBC back in 1982, I think. It was called "The Electric Grandmother", and Robert MacNaughton, who played the older brother in the movie E.T., played the older son (There were 2 boys, 1 girl this time.) in this version. The part where the grandmother sacrificed herself to save the girl moved me to tears at the time.

Maybe Samantha put him there! :D

She put Endora & Darrin there too, and pulled Dr. Bellows from IDoJ into the same TZ universe as Darrin!

Since we've been discussing this episode on my usual TZ board, I thought I'd check the voting here. 8 Very Goods, 4 Very Bads so far.

Of course, with all due respect to damin, some people might have opinions between those two extremes. Not me, though. This episode is still Very, Very Bad for me.
