View Full Version : ??? The Lucy Show Question ???
Fran=Lucy 03-29-2004, 04:43 PM Question people! Was The Lucy Show always done in color? I've watched some Lucy episodes but they're all done in color. I ask because I've seen a lot of photos from earlier episodes with Viv and they're all in black and white. :confused: :D
Amber8611 03-29-2004, 04:54 PM The first season, with Viv and the kids was filmed in black and white. The next two seasons, which included both Gale Gordon and Viv were broadcast in black and white, but were filmed in color. The show began broadcasting in color in 1965 (the fourth season), when it switched formats. Hope that answers your question. :)
Fran=Lucy 03-29-2004, 04:57 PM Of course it does, thanks a lot! :D

I actually did participate in a trivia contest in Jamestown a couple years ago. I came in 3rd, but I would have come in first if I could understand the man asking the questions, lol. He asked if Ethel studied Italian before going to Europe (which I knew she did), but I misunderstood him and thought he said something about a tally, lol. So I answered "no" instead of asking him to repeat the question and ended up in third place. I did get two really nice pink ILL teddy bears and the TVLand to Go book though.
MagsLovesLucy 04-05-2004, 01:25 PM I didn't participate in the trivia contest last summer, but I plan to this summer. Last summer, when the contestant didn't know the answer to the question, they'd ask the audience, and I'd shout it from my seat. After like the fourth time I'd answered a question correctly, the host said to me, "You watch too much TV, dear!" :lol: I guess I just like to pay attention to detail, lol. The man sitting behind me had won his round, and offered to give me his prize because he said I deserved it more than he did (it was very kind of him to offer, but I already had the book he won). :lol:
Amber, that's great that you came in 3rd place! I heard some people who were sitting by me and had been onstage also complain that it was difficult to hear.
Lodee 04-05-2004, 03:40 PM Mags, I think you and Amber could give each other a run for the money! You both seem pretty knowledgeable about Lucy!!! (Now don't go fighting over harry:eek: )
Did you know Lucie Arnaz is going to be in Jamestown in May? How cool would that be to see?
MagsLovesLucy 04-05-2004, 04:12 PM I just read that Lucie Arnaz is going to be in Jamestown. I'm not going in May, but I'm glad that those who are going will get to see her. I'd love to see her and Desi, Jr. in person one day. Last summer at the "Breakfast with Lucy's TV Sons," Tom Watson surprised us and got Desi on the phone, and they chatted for a few minutes, which was really cool. :)
SPLAIN 04-05-2004, 06:58 PM WOW, congratulations to all of you so good at trivia to actually make it there.
