I read a different article yesterday when I was at Wal Mart. They showed her growing bigger and bigger from 1988 to today. It's was really shocking. I guess if she's really happy with her weight, then she should be. But she really should look at herself someday (SOON).

I really wasn't convinced that those pictures were true considering the source. I just saw her in a CBS made for tv movie 2 weeks ago and she looked good (of course older, but good for her age) I don't know when this movie was actually filmed, however.

I keep having thoughts back and forth about that. I saw that movie, too, and she did look good for her age. I think the only reason she looks so big in the pictures is because of the way her face looks and what she's wearing. She looks like a slob.

I don't know if we all read the same article (I saw the one in STAR Magazine) but I think I have an answer. I read somewhere about that movie being filmed a while ago, which is why she looked so much thinner in the movie than she doesn in the pics. Then again, the STAR never really prints accurate pics anyway lol. I feel sorry for her, and I hope she does take John Travolta's offer to help her

that article came out a couple of weeks ago, but does anybody remember the "Santa baby" commercial for Pier 1? that was made for this past christmas and I really doubt that she could put on all that weight in 2 months....plus look at the source, I always have a hard time trusting these tabloids. I still have faith that's not really kirstie...or they took pictures and then with a little computer help.....

I keep thinking that way too... but I keep seeing her EVERYWHERE. Do all those phony type magazines have the same things? I hope it's not real, but either way she's still awesome.

That is a good point. I don't see how she could have put all that weight on between now and Christmas. It just doesn't make sense. I think I've seen those kind of rags have stories about her weight before that obviously didn't turn out to be true. She looks so good in those Pier 1 commercials. I would be devestated if she has done that to herself because I love Kirstie!! She rocks...:rock:

I heard that they took Kirstie out of the Pier1 commercials because of her weight. If you look at the commercials now they have a guy. I read somewhere where they were warning her to lose the weight.

Other tabloids have similar pics, and Celebs Uncensored on E! had her frolicking on a beach looking pretty bad. Pier 1 dropped her because of the weight in favor of one of those inane Queer Eye/Straight Guy guys. The only thing I'd question in the article is "301 lbs.". She doesn't look *that* heavy. Maybe 200 or so.

I was just going to ask about the Pier 1 commercials. I doubt that the company would keep her on looking like that.

Pier 1 was complaining about her weight for a long time. They had to hide her behind furniture. At the end she wore that purple dress and it looked like it would burst.

Yeah, she maybe overweight but I don't think it is 301 lbs. I think that face picture was exaggerated. Boo to Pier 1 for replacing her for one of those Queer Eye guys. Poor Rebecca. She always looked so good on those commercials.:(

Kirstie to me looks like she weighs 260 pounds. Maybe after seeing herself on those tabloid magazines she'll do some serious slimming. If I were a star like her, I would slim down..... She's in the public eye and her fans see her all the time and I'm sure she would want to look her best.

yea but in star magazeen they showed her weight increase from 1990 to now, and in the pic of her in 2002 she looked almost twice as big as she did in the pier 1 commercials. so i am having a really hard time believing this.

ok i just looked at that article. and it is nothing like what i saw in star. star made it look like she had been huge for 3-5 years now. so i'm really confussed.

I think those pictures were shot at a bad angle. It looked like she was shopping for carpet (she has carpet remmnants under her arm) who is going to dress up for that?
I feel sorry for celebrities when they put on weight. Afterall they are human,and to have it splashed on every tabloid. And the one that has been keeping track of her over the years. How humiliating.
Also, boo to Pier 1 for dropping her. So much for liking someone b/c of who they are. She is still a gorgeous woman.

I'm not a weight expert, but it seems to me that it would be very unhealthy and difficult to change weights so fast. I mean she was doing the Pier 1 ads last year and looked good, and now all of a sudden weighs 301 lbs. I am really confused how this could be. I don't believe her weight increase is as dramatic as the tabloids are trying to say. They have been mean about her weight before I think.

Im sure she has put on some weight.... but Im also sure some of those are photoshopped.... if not all of them

I hope those photos are doctored. She's such a pretty woman. She has battled weight. In her younger years, she had a fantastic figure.

I highly doubt she's 300 pounds. I know somebody in real life who weighs that much, and Kirstie would have to be a literal ball to be 300 pounds.


I'd say she's right up there with Rosie O'Donnell, maybe around 220-240 pounds. But definitely NOT 300.

Just thought I'd bring this back up... haven't heard about this in a loooong time, so it means that either
a) It was all fake and it didn't really sell (which is what I think)
or b) She saw it herself, and decided to take some action.
Actually, they could both be true. I still say it's fake. Especially considering all these things I've read have had the "from this year to today" pictures, and they've all been different.

I feel bad that they put Kirstie through all this. I'm not a fan of hers in Cheers, but I do respect her as an actress and, of course, as a human being! I didn't see anything wrong with her weight on the Pier 1 commercials - it's sad that they would fire her just because of that. I mean, as long as she was healthy... And she does manage to keep a nice shape even when she's a little heavy. So much fuss over it. Funny - while Kirstie's fans want her to lose weight, we Shelley fans want Shelley to GAIN a little weight. She's skinnier than her Diane days! Anyway - boo to all the tabloids who put Kirstie on the spot like that - whether those pictures were real or not. Nobody should have to be subjected to such scrutiny - even in Hollywood.

I notice on Cheers, when Kirstie starts to gain weight, that it's written into the show. One customer asked her if she was pregnant, Sam commented that she was wearing fat clothes a lot, and Rebecca was on a diet on the show.

I think Kirstie is very pretty, so don't anyone take this the wrong way, but what season did she start gaining weight? I haven't seen all of the Rebecca years, so I don't really know what's up. I seem to recall that she gained weight, then took it off, and gained it back again.

I guess I'm looking for a chronology of her weight ups and downs throughout her six years on Cheers.

Again, I like her a lot. I'm just curious.

I know she was pregnant at least once during her tenure on Cheers (according to IMDB, one of her kids was born in 1992).

This might be my memory playing tricks on me, but I know she had a miscarriage. I just can't rememember whether or not this was during her time on Cheers.

The miscarriage was when Sam and Rebecca were trying to have a baby together. If she hadn't had a miscarriage, they probably would've had a kid.

I remember when she did "Look Who's Talking" -- that came out in 1989, when she was in her 3rd year on Cheers. I noticed a definite weight gain in that movie...She did "Look Who's Talking Again" in 1990 and she looked about the same...So I would have to say her weight gain occurred sometime during the filming of both LWT movies. She was working a LOT of long days during her 2nd-4th seasons on Cheers...so I would guess that was why...Altho I heard something else about her weight gain on her E! True Hollywood Story...I'm just not sure what it was. Maybe somebody can help me out here. :lol:
