I read the synopsis for the first episode of Three's A Crowd and saw that u r the editor and at the bottom it was noted that at the very beginning of the episode-"Family Affair", the final scene of Three's Company starts the episode off. So i just wanted to know exactly what part of Three's Company final scene starts the first episode of TAC off?


Is it when the Trio is still in the apartment?

Is it when Jack and Vicky are in their new place?

Although I am the editor for it, a visitor contributed the information. Normally I'm supposed to approve any information sent to the guide; however, I didn't approve this and I guess it slipped by. That piece of my information, to my knowledge, is false. The first episode of Three's a Crowd and the last episode of Three's Company aired a week apart, so it wouldn't really have been possible (unless I'm misunderstanding what you're asking).

Maybe u are misunderstanding me. It was noted that a small piece of Three's Company's Final Scene was added to the beginning of the first episode of Three's a Crowd. And I guess it was done that way to make a smooth transition from the parent show to the spinoff. And since u are the editor of TAC, i assumed you saw that piece of TC footage added to the first episode of Three's a Crowd. But now i see that you didn't.

perhaps i can answer your question, the final seen in 3' s comp is when jack and vickey are in the bedroom, and herfather walks in telling them he's bought the restauraunt . thus jack spoke the last word ever on 3's comp- landlord---then shot frose-3's comp shown, than comp is scatched out with 3's a crowd. the next week simple started with a seen in there new apt- no flashbacks...i hope that answers your question. for those of you whom are interested janet spoke the 1st word ever "oh" as in her aching head.

What you are talking about is SYNDICATED. I'm Talking about the Original Episode aired in 1984 of September

yes...... i'm talking about the original episode that aired back in sept 84 (oh my i feel old now, cause that was 20 years ago). the last episode ended with the beginning of the "three's a crowd" plot. the following week the actual 1st titled tac episode aired. i specifically remember being disappointed in it cause it just jumped in the tac plot. that's just it . it wasnt like a pilot episode, they just showed up on camera in the apartment and the weeks storyline began.

Well the info on TVTOME.com episode guide for THree's a Crowd must be false. It was said that the last scene of Three's Company started the first episode of THree's a Crowd

most people forget that there is tech a 9th season of threes comp, granted is was only one episode-friends/lovers part ii/thats why the final episode is listed as sep 84, and the 1st tac show is also listed sept 84.....mostly everyone forgets the final 2 part show was slit over 2 seasons.

I guess they wanted to have a SMOOTH transition from Three's Company to Threes a Crowd by have part 2 of TC a week before TAC

Interesting, I never really thought about who said the first word on TC. Janet also had the first lines. "Please have a little respect for the dying." But Chrissy was first shown, vacuuming.

Indeed it is. After I saw this topic and replied to it, I deleted that note on the first episode of Three's a Crowd.

Wasn't "Friends & Lovers" Part I also aired in September? I thought I read that F&L was originally an one-hour long episode.

I saw that episode on 9/13/03 when they had that tribute on TV Land

It was stupid do do that. I remember all the buildup for that last episode and that at the last minute ABC decided to postpone it until September. I didn't really like the episode that aired before it Cupid works overtime. Their was no Larry or Furley in it and it was basically about Jack and Vicki. It was a long summer.

Part 1 was aired in the Spring. So when someones contributes info to the TAC episode guide, i automacially thought the editor approved it. But it made sense that's why i was asking what part of the last scene started the episode off.

Hmm...I dunno...I don't think it was. It wouldn't make sense to air the two parts so far apart. I just checked the TC book and it listed the air dates as being as such:

#169 - "The Heiress": March 13, 1984
#170 - "Cupid Works Overtime": May 15, 1984
#171 - "Friends & Lovers (1)": September 18, 1984
#172 - "Friends & Lovers (2)": September 18, 1984

I also have a bunch of TV Guides from March 1984 through June 1984, and none of them list "Friends & Lovers" as airing during those months (although "Cupid Works Overtime" was listed in one of them).

Friends and Lovers part one and two aired as a one hour episode in September 1984.

You are right. I was thinking about Cupid Works Overtime when Jack says at the end-I'm In-and then it's a still shot. I will still look and see from Tape Trades and other sources if the ending of Part 2 started off TAC.
