Ok, Carrie, you have to help out a middle-aged mom here. Tell me about The Sims. I hear people talking about it but I don't know what it is. Is it a game? I saw your paintings. You are a creative and talented person!

Carrie, I just downloaded one of the Dick Van Dyke paintings and put it over the TV in the home of one of my Sim families. The father and daughter Sim looked at it and shrugged, but the mother applauded. She must be a fellow Dick Van Dyke fan. :)
Good job!
Lolac, I wouldn't categorize The Sims as a game exactly -- it's more of an interactive soap opera where you create homes and families and control their lives and relationships -- but it's definitely addictive and tends to take over other aspects of your life if you play with it for too long. (I've heard of people accidentally speaking "Simmish" to co-workers or exhibiting other Sim-like behavior...) Some people find it boring, but I have yet to lose interest after several years now.

Thanks for the compliments! :)
The Sims is definitely very addictive as Pentimento said. You basically run the lives of virtual little people. It's lots of fun. You send them to work, teach them how to cook, perform magic tricks, sing and lots, lots more. There are a total of 7 expansion packs plus the original game, so there are lots of goodies to use. There's some great info at the official site (http://thesims.ea.com). I definitely recommend getting it if you're into pc or console gaming. But, be prepared to lose a lot of sleep! :D

That's all I need, something else to take up my time! With a husband and 3 young kids, I think I'll pass on The Sims. I have a hard enough time getting my work done as it is! LOL.

Lol...I know what you mean. I have a 21 month old who wears me out. I can imagine what 3 kids can do to you! ;)
