A new generation is about to meet the good 'ole boys of Hazzard County and kick up some dust in the General Lee thanks to a new "The Dukes of Hazzard" vidgame to be released by publisher Ubisoft.
In one of the oldest entertainment properties to be licensed to a game company, Ubisoft has picked up rights to the show, which aired on CBS from 1979 to 1985, from Warner Bros. and is releasing "The Dukes of Hazzard: The Return of General Lee" this October.
Action racing game will feature voices and likenesses from former cast members Tom Wopat, John Schneider, Catherine Bach and James Best.
"We are working with a great property that has stood the test of time," said Tony Kee, Ubisoft's VP of marketing. "This game will appeal to a wide audience of both fans of the show and racing game enthusiasts."
Two "Hazzard" games were previously released by SouthPeak Interactive. Deal was made with WB's new vidgame division Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.
