Victorianscribe said she was checking out some of the TO sites and she read that TOAD should be released on DVD sometime this year. If that is true and they go according to the rankings on the dvd site dani mentioned, Chico and the man is higher in the rank than TO so wouldn't CATM come out on DVD first?

Hmmm -- I didn't think about that. I was hoping that the attention given Freddie and CATM at the TV Land awards might mean a DVD will be out soon.

Remember, a release of all TOAD episodes on DVD would mean some great scenes of Freddie.

Maybe both shows will be out on DVD this year, since it's the 30th Anniversary for both -- if that ever happened, I'm not sure my poor heart could take it!

Thanks.

Freddie isn't even listed as a guest star on IMDB.

Along with other members of this board, I have video tapes of the Tony Orlando and Dawn show where Freddie guest-starred -- one from 1975 (I think) where he opened the show in Tony's place, playing on the oft-mentioned resemblance between the two. He and Tony also did a "Road to Puerto Rico" skit, with Bob Hope and Bing Crosby playing cameo roles, which led to speculation that Tony and Freddie would do a series of updated "Road" pictures -- a project that, sadly, was never meant to be.

I used to watch Tony Orlando and Dawn when I was a kid- as well as Chico and the Man.

I think I can actually remember him being on there when I think about it- but I haven't ever tried to remember that!

Actually, I was in the same boat as you, I didn't know what TOAD was. I checked Freddie's credits on imdb and saw nothing, but Tony Orlando and Dawn was mentionted in the bio section, I figured that's what TOAD refers to.

 imdb.com (http://www.imdb.com ) if you want a list of credits of a particular actor/actress, or want to see a cast list of a particular movie/tv show, that's the site you need to check out. There's a bunch of other features too.

That'd be neat to see both TOAD & CATM on dvd as it'd mean more Freddie to watch for us! :)

I agree....having CATM on DVD would be a dream come true. Wouldn't it be great if we could get our hands on all the outtakes from the show. I can only imagine how funny they would be.
Dream on!!!!

Well, ladies, I don't want to raise any falso hopes, but something BIG should happen this year. Now Warner Brother's has not named Chico specifically, but they are the largest rights owner of classic TV shows and they are planning on putting a good bit of their catalog on the market within the next few years. Chances are, they will be included and hopefully sooner than later!;)
