View Full Version : Check Out What I found out Today!!!!!!!!
LuLu Rogers 03-24-2004, 01:09 AM I recieved this email from tvland:
Dear Viewer,
Thanks for writing. After their long and successful run, Jack, Janet, Chrissy (or Cindy or Terri) and the rest of the Three's Company gang have left Nick at Nite due to contracts and licensing. But never fear, we are always introducing other well loved shows for your enjoyment.
This means no more Three's Company!!!!!!!!!!!
What will we do!!!!!!!
M4cong 03-24-2004, 01:56 AM
Well, I have a big lump in my throat right now. I just can't believe this. I do not want "other" well-loved shows, I want Threes Company !!!! I am so so sad, but thanks for sharing this information. Did you reply to TVland??? I guess I do not understand what they mean by contracts and licensing. Do you have an idea on what exactly they meant by that??
Also, I thought PAV said that Viacom has a contract with TC until 2007. Gosh---I sure hope that another station can pick it up. Is there anything we can do to help the cause?? I am just sick about this.
I wonder if "they" (whoever they is) are doing this to see if the DVD 2 will have better selling rates when TC is not on the air?
I just can't imagine not ever seeing TC again on the air.
:(
Burley_Furley 03-24-2004, 02:08 AM I thought that TC would eventually go to TVland, but hmmm, maybe not.
I don't like the sentence, "But never fear, we are always introducing other well loved shows for your enjoyment." I don't want any other shows either, I want Three's Company.
This is sad!
M4cong 03-24-2004, 02:21 AM I know what you mean.....that sentence really bothered me too.
This is just horrible.
There has to be something we can do.
brasspounder 03-24-2004, 05:37 AM Dear Viewer,
Thanks for writing. After their long and successful run, Jack, Janet, Chrissy (or Cindy or Terri) and the rest of the Three's Company gang have left Nick at Nite due to contracts and licensing.
WHAT!!! How can there be contract and licensing issues if N@N has rights to the show for several more years!
:( :crying:  :angryfire
If there is to be no more national airings of TC, then they had better accelerate the release of the DVDs...like one every other month so I can hurry and get them all!!!
But never fear, we are always introducing other well loved shows for your enjoyment.
You mean even more frequent showings of Cosby, Cheers and Rosanne!!! :angryfire:angryfire:angryfire:angryfire
Cranky...you bet...its late and I can't fall asleep!
TVFactFan 03-24-2004, 09:46 AM PAV WE NEED YOUR INPUT!!!!!!!
LuLu Rogers 03-24-2004, 12:25 PM I'm just as disapointed as you guys! I cried last night after I got the email!! I emailed back asking if it was possible that they would air Three's A Crowd or The Ropers, but I haven't heard anything back yet.
*Pleasant Tomorrow* 03-24-2004, 04:27 PM Oh yeah, I'm sure they'll air some "wonderful" shows. Them losers. Least you have it on DVD or taped...
Chain Gang Member 03-24-2004, 04:34 PM I got an idea.We all keep sending them e-mails to put Three's Company on.They'll get tired of seeing all of these letters, that they'll put it on more times than any other show.
Pavan 03-24-2004, 04:34 PM They are not specific. They mean the amount of airplays in the contract is a little low, so the show is resting. They still have the show until October 2007. I'd expect sister station TV Land to start airing it whenever the amount of airplays dies down.
Christmas Snow 03-24-2004, 04:37 PM Well whats the email? I'll email them every day.

Yeah! Me too! ;) :D
Pavan 03-24-2004, 04:58 PM postmaster@tvland.com -- tell them you want Three's Company on TV Land, because Nick@Nite, if they bring it back, would only air it late nights.

Oh, yeah! You go, girl! :D
Christmas Snow 03-24-2004, 07:46 PM I just emailed them too. They have to realize that taking TC off is a big mistake.
LuLu Rogers 03-24-2004, 07:46 PM Jack: I won't go to bed unless you let me see it!!!!!!!!
Janet: Oh, ok, but be very careful!!!
Jack: OOOh, It's light and airy!! (drops the vase)
Janet: Now look what you've done!
LOL!!!!!!!!
KayCee 03-24-2004, 07:49 PM I just emailed them a second time. I told them that there were thousands of us (there are, aren't there?) that watch Nick@Nite almost exclusively for TC, and that when it was taken off it upsetted us. Now let's see what they think of that! :D  ;)
M4cong 03-24-2004, 07:50 PM Hey Pav!!!
This may be a stupid question, but what airplays being low mean?? I guess I don't know what airplays are!!! Could you explain please? Thanks.
LuLu Rogers 03-24-2004, 07:50 PM Jack: I promice never to touch it again!

I'm not sure what the contents of the Nick@Nite contract is, but most contracts have a certain amount an episode can play per year. For example, let's say an episode can air only three times a year, or an episode can only air twenty times for the entire seven year period. Note, that if an episode airs twice in one day, that ONLY counts as one airing.
These are not real numbers for the Three's Company contract, but I'm just trying to explain how it works.
M4cong 03-24-2004, 09:27 PM Thanks Pav.....that helps.

Maybe I'm wrong, but you seem to be someone that everybody bullies. If that's true, I'm sorry. You seem to be a nice person and like you don't want to hurt anybody's feelings. Maybe you will like the fanfic I helped someone write. Here is the link: http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/showthread.php?s=&threadid=78160&perpage=&pagenumber=2 Take a read, and give me your opinion. OK? :D
esam E 03-25-2004, 12:40 AM No I never got bullied but people did make fun of me before and isn't every threescompany fan nice I enjoyed the fanfic.
LuLu Rogers 03-25-2004, 02:45 PM Loved that fanfic! I added to it! Check it out!

That's word-for-word exactly the same email I got. Man, I HATE Nick@Nite.
LuLu Rogers 03-25-2004, 04:31 PM I got that exact same email word for word too!!! Nick at Nite sucks!!!!!!
Chain Gang Member 03-25-2004, 04:46 PM They are glad that I don't know where they are.If I could get my hands on them,I would strangle them until they would put Three's Company on or they would pass out and I would put it on myself. When it's too late, they will say "oh no!Some how,we put on the best show of them all on instead of some crappy show!"
LuLu Rogers 03-25-2004, 05:01 PM I sent this email: I, along with some friends found out that you guys have Three's Company until October 2007. We want our show back!!! If you can't put it on Nick at Nite, Why not on TV Land?
& I got that exact same reply AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!

They are sending that reply to everyone. I sent one and got the samething back. Hopefully if enough of us do it, then they will take the emails into consideration and put TC back on, either N@N or TvLand.
I'll keep sending emails.
Chain Gang Member 03-25-2004, 06:34 PM I got the same letter saying that Three's Company was cut off due to their contract,so I sent another letter and got a reply that said that I used offensive language just because I used jackass in the letter. So I sent a letter without it

ferrett 03-28-2004, 05:15 AM they're probably just telling you that so you'll leave them alone with the emails & petitions.
I've barely watched n@n since the show left the air
