In the theme song in the pilot they mention the passengers are going for a six hour ride.

Does anyone know why this was changed to a three hour tour in the later theme songs?

I guess when they changed the lyrics for the other stuff, it fit better, rhymed, and was more likely.

Not fully, Jillian. It would have been more understandable for the newer verse to go :
.....
The Skipper brave and sure
Five passengers that sailed that day for a six hour tour
A six hour tour

We're just a lot more used to hearing three hour hour instead of a six hour one. Nothing that much less likely about a six hour tour either. Some islands the Minnow was ferrying the passengers could easily have been two or three hours away by boat.

I read in Sherwood Schwarthz's book that the Networks didn't
like the calypso's song. So,Schwarthz had to change the lyrics
and the music to please everyone. So,he wrote another song
with an old friend and composer Georges Willye.I guess they changed the six hours tour for three hours tour:)
