How old do you think Mrs.Mondello was supposed to be? Madge Blake was 55-60 on the show.

Probably in her mid to late 40's. She had at least 2 children who were several years older than Larry and Larrys brother had at least one kid making her a grandmother, so I'm guessing she had Larry while in her late 30's.

Larry was probably an "accident". Back then, not many women had babies when they were in their late 30's or early 40's. It was thought of as being risky.

I agree. The way his parents were always yelling at him and hittin' him gave me the impression they didn't want him around.

Actually,it's still risky, especially to the baby after 35.They can be carried till full term,no problem, but for some reason,it increases the risk of down's syndrome and other problems like that. But it is becoming more and more common to have kids in your late 30's.I'm glad I had mine in my mid-20's cuz they wear me out now as it is:)
