Woooo baby!
I finally stepped into the new millenium and got a high speed wireless connection for the ol' computer.
Tre cool.
I can finally disconnect my damn phone line. Those bastards at Verizon have seen the last of me!

;) Congrats. I wish I could get rid of this dial-up, but until the places around here quit trying to charge 50 bucks a month for DSL...I will be keeping my cheap dial-up.:p
Welcome to my world, TJL. You'll love being cell phone-only. It's so much more convenient (and cheaper).

Welcome to the club TJL! We moved in January 2003 to where I'm presently living and you can't get dialup service here, the only thing avaliable is cable internet. It's SO much better than dialup. It does go out occasionally, but still is reliable 99% of the time. I am NEVER going back to dialup. Die dialup and slow internet service! :happyface
I am so incredibly happy with the highspeed.
Finally, I can watch movie trailers without waiting a half hour for them to load!
And by movie trailers, I of course mean porn.

That's great! I have ol' dial -up but after getting a phone bill for $100 I'm switching to DSL too. I think AOL took my local access number off and made it 'unavailable' all the sudden just to take more money out of my pocket and they did! I sent them a survey telling them how poor their service was and all the sudden my local number was back:D ...The DSL company is sending me with a self -install kit! Are those easy to do??

That's awesome! I've had my highspeed for about 3 months now. It's great.

That's great TJL. Now you can get your funny jokes out at lightening speed.
I've had high speed whatever it is through my cable company for years, and I love it. It's worth the 47 bucks that they soak me for.
I am currently in computer hell. My computer is having surgery at the Gateway Hospital. I won't get it back for two weeks. I borrowed this hunk of junk dinosaur thing, and even with the high speed, it's a nightmare. I can't post pictures, and it's so slow. :faint:

Luckily my roommate and I are splitting the cost, plus I'll be discontinuing my phone service, so that will save me like 40 bucks a month.
I am wondering if I should drop my aol account though. I could use the highspeed online companies browser at no charge. But that would mean changing e-mail addresses.
To many descisions!
I want my modem back!
