Did anyone watch the TV Land awards last night? I think the highlights of the show were the tribute to John Ritter and of course The Mary Tyler Moore Show getting their awards. I also enjoyed Eric McCormack's tribute song. That was awesome. :)

I saw parts of it. I was so exhausted, I kept falling asleep! I saw the tributes and enjoyed them. I thought Farah Fawcett seemed a little flaky. It amazes me to see how old some of those people are. I'm not getting older, am I? ;)

Lol...I agree about Farrah Fawcett.
A lot of those people did look old. When Tony Dow and Jerry Mathers came out, I couldn't believe it! I didn't see Dick Van Dyke there, which kind of depressed me. :(

I agree about the age thing. I watched it, but as I watched I remembered why I'd found it so difficult to watch last year: it's just such a shock to see all of my favorite classic TV stars looking so ancient and decrepit. I'm glad that there are so many that are still around and were able to attend this event, but the surviving cast members of The Andy Griffith Show, Gilligan's Island and even The Mary Tyler Moore Show looked like they were in danger of expiring right there on the spot. It was good to see that the humor is still alive and sharp as ever, though -- Betty White giving out her phone number and Russell Johnson thanking the people of New Zealand -- and I'm glad that they still have the opportunity to stand up and be honored and appreciated.
The tribute to John Ritter was particularly poignant since he had hosted last year's TV Land Awards and so he was doubly missed this year. I like Brad Garrett well enough, but it just wasn't the same.
I liked the tribute to The Mary Tyler Moore Show, particularly the song by Eric McCormack, but I could have done without the Sex and the City parody. I've always loved Bea Arthur, but that was just disturbing.

HI...i watched it last night also...
Obviously the highlight for the night (in my opinion) was the tribute to the Mary Tyler Moore Show. It was kind of funny to me seeing that last year it was the Legend award that got the main recognition when it was given to the Dick Van Dyke Show (which was well deserved) and then this year when it was given to the Andy Grifith Show it wasn't as big. And with the Groundbreaking award, last year they didn't do too much with it, while this year they went all out! I loved Eric's song to Mary (I thought the last part was sooooooo sweet...mary looked like she was gonna cry)... it was so nice to see how honestly touched by the award Mary and the rest of the gang were (it was fun to see the characters come out of all of them - betty giving her # and cloris interrupting valerie! lol). I hated how some of the other people who got their awards seemed to kind of shrug it off (i totally agree with you about Farrah Fawcett...it didn't seem that she cared at all...almost as if she was kind of embarrassed to be there). I also loved how the MTM cast got an amazing standing ovation...TRULY DESERVED!!!!!!
