well..

I know I know this subject has been discused a million times, but nobody ever answers my question!

Is it like her real real accent or did she just act when she had the accent, b/c after the 3 or 4th season it went away.

Well...

She was just pretending that accent for the show. But since Nancy is such a good actress, she figured that all the time in Peekskill would make Jo loose the accent.

I think it's her real accent because she is from New York and all, and if we listen to her in the other movies and things she has done she has it in there too, not I heavy accent but you can tell it's different then the rest of the people. I went away to massachusetts and my accent was going a little and I started talking the like massachusetts people. So I think it's real

Shes from queens, an most... People from queens have strong accents, yes it was her real one. At least thats what I think... Because if I were too move too california I doubt I;d lose my accent... Well eventually i would but I think it was her real one. And I like it because it sounds like my accent! hehe. Which is slowly becomeing more NEw York like by the day.

I think it was real because it was very strong at first, and then slowly became less noticible. That seems pretty natural. And she lived in NY for ten years, she's bound to have an accent. And I've noticed that she has an unusual way of saying words like "you" and "to," has anyone else noticed that? I can still hear it sometimes on TD.

It probabally was her real accent. One of my best friends is from NY and she only lived there for like 5 years when she was little and she still has the accent. Her dad really does since he'd lived there his whole life. Accents are hard to lose.

i think it's real too. u see... my accent.. is completely strange, since i think i don't have one. i live in pa.. and when i go to my relatives in ny they laugh at me because *i* talk funny. and i think i do even for around here because i say words like "back" and "talk" funny.. almost nylike and "home" has this almost english accent to it.. and.. i'm weird....

I was wondering the same thing. How do "Massachusetts people" talk? I mean, there's the Boston accent that you can hear sometimes especially with words like "car" or something. But how do we talk? LOL

That might have been her real accent, but I don't think so. I've seen her in many films and she speaks without an accent in all of them. But who knows? After all, Lisa hid her southern accent VERY well on FOL.

If anybody has seen SchoolBOy Father, does she have an accent in that?

And she didin't have an accent in Starsky and Hutch, I don't think it was real.

I miss her NY accent. Her current Cali accent is boring to me (I live in CA and hear that type of accent every day).

Me too! The NY accent had more attitude, IMO. I thought I read somewhere that she needed an accent coach to help her get rid of her accent for her movies. But it might have been someone *suggesting* what *might* have happened. In other words, I have no clue. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif But in my opinion, it was real cuz it slowly faded over time, like it should have "in real life."

I don't think anyone knows for sure. We can only speculate on this board. Maybe it is a good topic to bring up the next time she does one of her Lifetime chats.
