I can't tell you how many unopened DVDs I have at home.

I get them because I know I want to own them- a favorite movie or show or such.
I don't know what it is that makes me never open them, it's kinda strange.

Anyone do this?

In terms of getting dvds because I want to own them, I'm the same way. When certain favorite movies/tv shows of mine are released on dvd, I buy them on release day and am satisfied that I have them in my collection. But I do open mine because I'm always interested in checking out the bonus features or a particular favorite scene that I want to see again. At first, when I heard about people not opening their dvds, I didn't understand the reasons why, but I understand now that people are content with owning them and not opening until they know they're going to watch. I wouldn't want to take a chance of having a cracked disc, or the wrong disc entirely inside the case. When I buy dvds, I open them and put the whole package through an inspection, then put on the shelf.

I got Terminator 3 for Christmas and opened it last week and still haven't watched it.

My family has had a couple which hadn't been been opened for over two years. I have a MIB 2 DVD that we've had for several years unopened. I think it was hidden because it was a Christmas present and I discovered it.

I usually open any DVDs I get right away, unless it's for Christmas or my birthday or something like that. I'm always afraid that the DVD will be scratched or something of the like and that it'll be too late to return it.

I have 9 DVD's. 2 of them are open. I never have the time to watch movies. There are tons of DVD's I'd like to buy but cant' right now - dont even watch the few I have!

Why would I shell out $20 for something I'm not going to open? I might as well just save the DVD coverart from a website or from a search on Google.

Im Like that too, Just Knowing i own them is good enough for me Until im ready to watch them (Which can sometime be Months After i buy them).

I open them the second I get home, but my problem is that I'll put it in and play a little bit of it then stop it and I never get around to watching the rest of it. I always do that.

I got a copy of "E.T." two Christmases ago that I haven't opened yet.

I'm very busy, with all my work down at the orphanage and the soup kitchens, then there's my volunteer work at the senior citizen center, reading books to the blind...

I usually open my DVDs right away. I only own four DVDs. Casualties of War, Bright Lights Big City, The Secret Garden and Road To Bali. I'm going to buy Mystic River when it comes out in, I think, May. Most of the time the DVDs just sit on my shelf and I don't watch them for sometimes weeks. I have some VCDs, too. On VCD I have: I Am Sam, Moonlight Mile, The Sweetest Thing, Sweet Home Alabama, Top Gun, White Oleander, Good Will Hunting and Eyes Wide Shut. I don't watch a lot of them much, though. The only ones I watch more than once a month are: Moonlight Mile, The Sweetest Thing, Sweet Home Alabama, Bright Lights Big City, White Oleander and Good Will Hunting. I've only watched Eyes Wide Shut once and it's just sitting on the shelf. I thought Eyes Wide Shut was a strange film. I've only watched Top Gun once, too.

I have a few DVD's that are not opened. Since my DVD player is a piece of junk I don't want to ruin them.

i usually dont have time to watch them, so they may stay unopened until i forget about them - i have actually bought second copies of a couple of things because i forgot that i already had them

I started collecting DVD's before I even bought a DVD player so I had afew that were never opened for about a year.

If you haven't opened a DVD within a week of buying it, then you probably shouldn't have bought it.

If you like a movie and know you want to own it you may not be able to watch it the second you get it.

If you are that focused on your purchases you must be a joy to be around.

Like you never bought something you wanted and didn't get around to it for a while.

I buy things just to have it...I rarely have time to look at them right away.

Well, I only have like 10 DVD's and I have opened everyone of them.:lol: I have over 100 VHS's and there are some of those I got when I was younger that I have never watched...mostly old Disney Movies like The Lion King 2 and Hercules...They bore me.

I usually open them in the car on the way home from the store..lol

How do you manage to do that while driving? It takes me at least 15 minutes after I get them home just to get through all that tape and plastic that they come wrapped in. :lol:
