Ah, I need help...ok, so my sister played a computer game and it made everything on the computer to big. So I right clicked...went to properties and then went to whatever I needed to do to fix it. I only have 3 choices to change the screen resolution to. So I hadta choose between two big ones and one that seemed too small...so now my aol screen is smaller then it is normally and I have this big black bar on one side of my screen pushing everything over to the left, so I don't have a file menu. Help!

Tell me exactly what options you used.

Try right clicking on the desktop, the click display modes and the go to true color and put that at 1024x728.

Whenever I go to 1024X728 I always get that black bar along the right of my computer screen. It's about a quarter inch thick and REALLY annoying. It pushes everything to the left causing me not to have the file menu. I'm ready to kill my computer. I think it's supposed to be set to 800X600, but it's always too big then and 1024X728 is always too small. Ahh, it's pissing me off.

did your sister just install the game? sounds like it may have messed with your video card/driver settings, have you tried a restart?

i rechecked it and i found i have it set on 1024X768, and I don't know how to change it to 728 b/c i can't enter numbers in or anything, i have three choices, some other number 800X600 and 1024X768

i would just tell you to reinstall the driver, or go into safe mode and uninstall it and let Windows plug and play the correct driver, but not all machines are the same....

are there any manuals/disks/support info that came with it that could give you instructions to reinstall the driver properly?

Not the resolution settings...But the ones that align your screen. You know, right below the screen itself, where there are a few buttons on it. Those ones. :)

Start playing around with your monitor buttons, and try to push your screen back to centre.

Eventually, you SHOULD get a centred display.

There should be a Horizonal Positioning setting somewhere on your monitor, where, when you change the number, the picture moves left or right
