Gee, there are so many reasons, personnaly, why I don't like Rick, there are too many to count. The major reason is because he's just REALLY annoying. Can't he ever be serious? He's not even funny.
Then, there's this grudge I have because we all know that Jo was meant to be with Eddie. No matter what ever 'mistake' he made.
AND he was only in like 2 episodes before him and Jo got married. No character developement there. You didn't even have a chance to get used to him... sorry to be harsh.

I think Rick was in the wrong place at the right time personally. The show's producers knew it was going to be the last season, so they took what they perceived to be the most popular character and stuck her with the closest guy there. Why couldn't Doug from the Bronx have been there instead!! He was even played by Kevin Spiratis from Days who can actually act, one of the few on Days. I love Craig, he's such a funny evil character and would take care of Rick in a heartbeat. If the producers wanted a wedding then they should've had Tootie and Jeff get married for the finale. But unfortunately we weren't the producers (I would've been 7 at the time! you see a lot of 7 year old producers!!). Anyway, Rick was just there at the worst possible moment. So, yes, I don't really care for Rick. The guy had no common sense which really gets to me more then anything.

lesliem- I agree that the producers needed to do something 'drastic' for somewhat of a finale. So here comes Rick...
I also agree that they should of had Tootie and Jeff marry, since at that time, they were the shows longest running couple.
Yet again though, if they knew they wanted Jo to marry, why didn't they bring in Eddie, or Flyman even? That way, they would of had to rush the whole relationship. Both of them are far more likable than the piano man...
Still, I take it that you son't like the Rickster, so i'm puttin' you on the list.

Jo could've definitely done better than Rick. He was not particularly smart or handsome.....actually a bit dorky imo. He even left town without Jo the day after their wedding without taking her on a decent honeymoon and she was left living with the other girls. Why bother getting married??

Anyway, for some reason, he did seem to make her happy. I agree with leslie that the writers just seemed to throw this whole wedding thing together because the series was winding down. Maybe we should just fix this situation in fan fiction.

They just kind of threw him in at the last minute. Plus he just didn't seem like the right type of guy for Jo. He sure annoyed me. So I'll definately join the club.

Just recently, we have been informed that Rick Bonner will make an appearance in the reunion movie set to air next season.

Apparently, the writers of the reunion movie are introducing the good ole' Rickster in hopes of 'filling' the gap that is left without Jo Polniaczek.

This is a major blow to our faction known as "The All-Time Rick Haters Club".
So, in attempts to revive the utter dislike of Rick Bonner, I am now reinstating "The All-Time Rick Haters Club".
Of course, new members are welcome. So please, speak up and... Spread the word.

I know this has nothing to do w/ the subject of this thread, but I just thought I'd mention that people on other message boards that have absolutely nothing to do w/ Sitcoms Online or FOL are now talking about the FOL reunion. One person (at a website for health & beauty) posted a message that goes "What was that guy's name again whom Jo married...was it Eddie...?" And I think to myself "Oh boy."

That's the stuff! The only good thing coming out of Rick appearing on the reunion is that we can recruit new members. But we have to be subjected to him to do so. what a price.
