...what would you choose? (And no, Laura is not an option!)
I'd like to have the Meershatz pipe.

View Full Version : If you could have one prop from the series... hank18 03-13-2004, 03:29 AM ...what would you choose? (And no, Laura is not an option!) I'd like to have the Meershatz pipe. Darn, darn, darn! Steve Lolac 03-13-2004, 10:58 AM The big monkey from "My Mother Can Beat Up My Father!" Lolac  hawaii five-o 03-13-2004, 12:58 PM Laura's United States pin. Petrie Malone 03-13-2004, 06:07 PM The ottoman Rob trips over or sidesteps in the opening credits!\ Kurt Pentimento 03-14-2004, 01:05 PM I was going to say the portrait of Laura from "October Eve", but we never actually got to see the painting, did we? My second choice, then, would probably be the turtle with the Petrie family painted on its shell from "Turtles, Ties, and Toreadors". Larry Surrell 03-14-2004, 04:22 PM Ogden Darwell's electric reclining chair. It looked comfortable! hank18 03-26-2004, 05:19 PM Does anyone know what that fish-looking thing is on the kitchen wall, to the right of the sliding screen door? Lolac 03-26-2004, 06:00 PM They're copper molds. My mother had some when I was a kid. She used to put jello in them. Some people used them for decorations, as did the Petries. Every time I see them, I remember them from when I was a kid! Lolac  hank18 03-26-2004, 06:03 PM Thanks Lolac. I've always wondered. A jello mold fish? Very interesting. barwars 03-30-2004, 06:58 PM Id have to say.... ever single Walnut from "It May Look Like A Walnut" Or the Santa costumes that Rob and Laura wear on "The Alan Brady Show Presents" ScottD 04-03-2004, 09:08 AM I'm still thinking on this one, but I did just watch Turtles, Ties, and Toreadors and the turtle was really cool! I wouldn't mind having the painting of the horses above the Petries' couch. How about Laura's find from The Masterpiece? jehobden 04-05-2004, 02:27 AM I'd love to have Laura's musical jewelry box or Alan Brady's musical decanter that plays "How Dry I Am". ScottD 04-09-2004, 11:16 PM Another great collectible would be Mel's ventriloquist dummy from Too Many Stars. I just saw this recently and don't think I'd seen it before. I love how Mel slams the dummy into it's case, as if it's the dummy's fault the act didn't go over or something! Although I've always thought ventriloquist dummys were sort of creepy too. treky 04-10-2004, 11:16 PM Originally posted by Lolac They're copper molds. My mother had some when I was a kid. Lolac  yea, my mother used to have some too. treky 04-14-2004, 02:55 AM I'd like to have that toy flying saucer from the episode where Rob saw a UFO, and it turned out to be a toy. I forget the name... I think it was called "Alley-oop" or something like that. I think I'd like the disappearing piano. Whenever I have a party, it's there. Whenever I'm not, poof , it's gone! Steve ddenoff 04-14-2004, 09:27 PM In the Denoff collection are: The two Artanis (sinatra) clown paintings from Episode 65, "The Masterpiece" and the water pistol painting done a la Jackson Pollack by Serge Carpetna (Carl Reiner) in "October Eve" We don't know WHERE that ottoman ever went. I think I heard somewhere that Larry Matthews has the desk that was in Alan Brady's office. Actually, I think he said it in one of the commentaries. I bet there are some great things to be had out there if someone knew where to look. Good to hear from you, Doug. I am really looking forward to the reunion special. Lolac  ddenoff 04-15-2004, 09:09 AM yes indeed. Larry has the desk. But not the massively inflated ego of Alan Brady. He came into the desk by accident when they were moving the stored props into a new storage facility and didn't really realize which desk it was until he was watching TDVDS one night and saw the desk in a close shot. he looked over at his own desk and realized that he had to rush right out and buy some toupee stands (just kidding) Lolac 04-15-2004, 12:31 PM Originally posted by ddenoff yes indeed. I can't wait to get that episode, "Coast-to-Coast Big Mouth." It is one of my all-time favorite episodes and I haven't seen it in a couple of years! 2 more weeks til season 4! Lolac  treky 04-16-2004, 02:33 AM yes, it is a funny one and it's also one of my favs. as well. I reard or heard once somewher that it's also Carl Reiners fav., and his favorite scene is that one when Laura's in Alans office . algebra74 04-16-2004, 06:14 PM I would have to have the ottoman, over which Dick Van Dyke tripps during the opening credits (part of the time, anyway!). This drem may become reality as dickvandykeshow.com posts that they plan to release the ultimate Dick Van Dyke Show set containing all 158 episodes, extra footage, and personally autographed items all enclosed in an ottoman, just like the one over which Dick Van Dyke tripps. This will be released after the season sets are finished. |
