If anyone wants to answer just 1 or 2 of the 3 questions, that's cool. Hopefully I can figure out how to do these things once and for all.

1. how does one post a previous picture as part of a quote?

2. How do I post a website by putting another name in it's place? Example-- say I want to put " http://www.sitcomsonline.com is the greatest" but instead of having it show up like that I have it saying " This website is the greatest," where the words "This website" would be the blue part you click on.

3. Is there any way I can remove something from my "tools" button?

Well, I can definitely answer #2. :D

When you post a URL, it'll ask you first what text you want to appear. Then it'll ask you for the site. If you type in "This website" first, it should show up with the proper link. For example:

This website (http://www.sitcomsonline.com) is the greatest. :woohoo:

Hope that helps.

you could right click on the image and copy the image location, then manually put it in the quote with the [img] tag , but when you see it in people's quotes, it depends on whether the image was an attachment or a link

:rotflmao:

It's a picture of The Yardbird--it's in my town next to an old shopping centre. I think of it as ~our landmark~. Lol, the thing's goofy as hell.

File, Edit, View, Favorites, Tools, Help -- those things (what are they called?) In Tools I don't like Window's Messenger being there. It's there to stay though, isn't it?

Copy the image location... hmm. Now, why can't I do that when I right click?

Right-click anywhere on it and click on "Customize". You can remove the button from there. :D

Right-click....Click on properties...Highlight the URL that you see in the "URL" field there...then copy it, and you can post it here. :D (with IMG tags, of course)

I goofed. I meant to say in TOOLS (next to File, Edit, and all those) where it has "internet options," "encarta Encyclopedia" and those things--I want to get rid of where it says "windows messenger."

(How did my name come up as "Miss Vicky" in your reply to me? )

Anyhoo...I gotcha...I see it now...Yeah, it's pretty much there to stay. :(

No prob :D

Windows Messenger and MSN Messenger are different...Windows Messenger comes installed w/ XP, and you have to download MSN Messenger yourself....Windows doesn't have as many features as MSNM, which sucks. :(

Oh yes I know they are different, but I could have sworn my windows messenger looked like msn--it had the same icon, and I THOUGHT it showed the same list of friends I had on msn. I can't varify that now though, because I deleted it (hope that wasn't a bad thing to do.)

Yep...I remember that...the big difference is the way they are named. They are two different programs entirely. :p

With MSN Messenger, you can access your buddy list from ANYWHERE. :)

BUMP!

And I want to put pictures like this http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/avatar.php?userid=3395&dateline=1078825560
in emails without it being an annoying attachment. How?

You can't do the IMG tags and stuff like that in emails - you have to learn HTML to do so. It's simple; upload your pictures to a place like www.photobucket.com, and then post it in an email. The HTML to put pictures in an email is <img src=URL here>, but Photobucket will be able to help with the HTML bit. In Yahoo mail, you have to turn on HTML (in the lower right corner of the message box), but I think in Hotmail, you don't need to worry about that. :)

:p :mooner: Hey, it's better than nothing! At least you don't HAVE to buy a HTML book from Barnes & Noble :D

Nah, we just look around for HTML codes...and if all else fails, we make up our own. ;) (No, just kidding...)
