Which character did you like better, Fred Rutherford or Mel Cooley?

Personally, I always liked Fred's character much better than Mel's. I never really liked Buddy's constant 'jokes' about Mel. Most of them weren't funny, in my opinion, and Mel never had much if any comeback to them. But that's just me.

Futherford ? :)

I liked Fred much more, he seemed to be much more friendly.

Sorry! I should have provided more information in my post.

Mel Cooley was the actor played by actor Richard Deacon in Dick Van Dyke.

Cooly? profreed? :)

This is way too easy!! There is nobody around that spells worse than I do.....I can't spell at all, but I can spot mistakes easily. In fact, I once worked in a printing shop, as a proofreader, or profreed!

I think you are not a bad speller, you are probably just typing faster than you are thinking.....I also tend to do that a lot!

Mijada, somehow we ended up talking about someone from the DVD show, not trying to confuse you!

It's hard for me to pick a favorite. On "Beaver", Fred was kind of arrogant and always saying things like, "Ward, my boy..." On DVD, it was funny when Mel said "Ick" to Buddy and when Mel would brown nose Alan Brady, even though Alan treated him like dirt.

I guess Fred is just more memorable for me so I picked him.

Oh OK. Thanks for the info. I only watch Dick Van Dyke on occasion so I'm not familiar with all the characters. I have seen Richard Deacon on there but had no idea what his character name was.

LOL! Apparently, Evermore, when I attempted to resize the car to fit as my AVATAR, it got all scrunched up.

I pick Mel, Fred gets on my nerves. He is so arrogant and sure that his Clarence does no wrong. I'm not a promoter of violence. But, I wish Ward would have belted Fred a good one just once. Then the lesson of the day would be, see what happens when you lose your temper!
