Well, I had this Full House tape. You know the part where you stick it in the VCR the first part. The one with an arrow that says this way and "don't touch the tape"
Well, The black thing (part of the tape) that covers up the tape in there, one side of it broke off. Will it still work? The tape works, but do you think I can fix it?

I would buy a blank tape, carefully remove that tape protector from the tape, and then attach it to your new tape.

I have had those break before and the tape work, you might want to take all of it off though, then make sure when not using the tape to put it in a case so it won't get dirty.
