Hi. I usually never post on any other board but my favorite show (Cheers) but I thought it would be interesting to come over here and check some other things out, especially because I live in Lucy's home town! Lol I even went to the Elementary School she did. Anyway I just wanted to say Hi and ask if anyone else lives in her hometown. :)

lol i didn't know that! cool! i don't have a ton of pictures, a couple of my sisters and me at the musuem (however you spell that) but other than that not really. i'll see if i can take some pictures of her house though it's like 2 minutes from mine

Tell me you have lilac trees or bushes on your property and i'll believe you, LOL! Do you notice lots of activity in the town at Festival time, twice a year?

lol yeah we have 3 lilac bushes around our house but one we cut down this summer. why does that make you believe me? lol yeah we always go to one of the luci-desi days, or at least we try to. we missed last year though we were in pittsburgh visiting my aunt. it's like always on the local news and in the papers though

Beacause Lilac trees or bushes always make me think of Lucy's childhood seing as she was surrounded by them, i was shocked to notice that my neighborhood when i was growing up was exactly the same which makes me feel we had some kind of lilac connection, LOL!

lol yeah there are a ton of lilac bushes and stuff around here. but that's okay b/c lilacs are one of my favorite flowers. they smell sooooooo good! :D

How cool! Lucky you. :) Lilacs are also my favorite flower. They're so beautiful and they smell lovely.

The one downside though is they don't LAST very long. I forget what time of year they bloom, in the Spring right?

Yeah, that's the only bad thing about lilacs. They bloom in the spring, yes. I think they're mostly around in May, which is nice because last year as part of a birthday present my friend gave me a huge bouquet of lilacs from her garden. :)

I have a big lilac bush in my frontyard. they are the best smelling flowers. I just wish they lasted at least the whole summer. A few years ago we had a late frost and it ruined my lilac buds. I had to go w/o them for a season.

Yeah, what's the deal with those, some people say to trim them, others say NEVER trim them! And isn't it nice they come out in May for that Lucy celebration and Mother's Day?

idk we've never trimmed ours and they've done just fine. yeah they only last like a day after you pick them which sucks, but they look and smell great for a day! :)

Mine got pretty full last year. So I thinned it out, and shortened it a little. I did it in the fall. You shouldn't do it once the buds have started, I think it kills them or causes them not to get to full.

Why do i get the feeling i'm no longer on a Lucy board but have joined a garden club? LOL! Thanks though, i appreciate it!:lol:

I would love nothing more than to go there as i was the one who always told everybody to go to ALL the Lucy boards, but i although i like Chricky a lot, his dad's politics are a real turnoff, he makes ME look like a moderate. He's anti gay, another thing that bothers me as i have many gay friends on the boards. For gosh sakes Lucy was surrounded by gay people and had them as friends. I told everybody i was gone ON PRINCIPLE, so i can't very well go back on my word, but you could do me a big favor Amber. This past Sunday was Gypsy or Sara's birthday and i couldn't go there to post a happy birthday thread and she and her mom are PEACE lovers, could you do a belated birthday thread for me for her? I would owe you a tape in return!
