I don't hear anything on Kazaa anymore. Maybe it's because I haven't been on the boards, but remember when it was causing that virus? Is that problem still going around? I had Kazaa in the summer, ignored the stories about the virus going on, and a while later got it myself. Now, I don't have it of course, but I was wondering if it's "safe" again. Probably a stupid question, but I do miss it.

I uninstalled it because it had so much spyware, I would get tons of pop-ups and they'd set my homepage to the spyware pages. I'd have to change them and while trying it would freeze my computer.

So now I just use WinMX.

I thought it was causing viruses too. That's what some computer tech said about our computer. I never have any luck with Winmx.

I just downloaded it. It put a lot of virus security. I use this one in tandem with Rhapsody. It looks all right so far. I dumped WinMx because it kept timing out on me.

Use kazaa lite. But it doesn't really matter. All the songs are completely bugged. That is assuming, you use it to download music...

That's the RIAA's and Anti-Piracy advocates fault, it is. They intentionally do that to songs solely to tick you off, in the hopes you'll give up downloading and just buy the Song.

So you're saying most of the songs have glitches in them?

Not all. In fact, I've actually gotten decent at being able to spot the good ones from the bad ones (For example, a MP3 with 3:00+ of Music, at 128 Encoding, will NOT be *under* 2 MB.

Probably those ones that 30 secs or so into the song, it starts making obscene noises. Reminds me of fingernails on a chalkboard.

Yep. By bugged, I mean that ungodly sound the songs start to make at random durring the song. My favorite experience is when I downloaded 2 copies of "Shake ya tail feather." One was bad, one was good. I put the bad one on a cd inadvertently, and blasted it in my cars sweet system I had just installed. 15 seconds into it, horribly sounds of glitchy madness led to me to nearly messing my pants.

I loved Kazaa but I never use it anymore. On my new laptop, I use Ares. So far, I've had it a week and downloaded a little over 100 songs (The first two days, Lately, I've been too busy to) and they all sound perfect.

The only people I know that have it are on campus. I'm not sure how new it is, but it's really good. I'm finding all the songs, music videos, and movies I want.

Personally, I use Kazaa Lite. WHY do I use Kazaa Lite? Because I'm always too tired to go into Kazaa and Disable it's reliance on Spyware..vis a vis It's not installws...
