Has anyone here taken it ? Is it really difficult? I'm asking because I'm going to take it as a Pre-AP class next year and I want to be prepared.

I registered for Pre-cal next year just today. I hate math.

I'm in it now, for college credit. (Is that what AP means...?) It's really pretty simple. Lots of just building off what you learned in Algebra 3-4.

I'm taking it right now with a teacher who can't teach. There have been so many complaints about her. But she gives us really easy tests, because she's afraid she'll get fired if everyone fails.

Better you than me!! I don't think I could handle her!! Glad that she gives easy tests!! Yes she is caught between a rock and a hard place!!

i dunno, i'm taking algebra 2 next year, however some person in my class who was in advanced math (i'm in honors) not only was a year ahead of me anyways, he doubled up this here and is taking pre-cal this year and he's taking both ap classes next year and he's in 9th grade...insanity...

Not only did I have the luck in missing out on algebra but calcu both pre and/or regular!!

I'm taking pre-calc next year. Honors here is supposed to be really hard but I dont think regular will be. hopefully it wont be. I didnt know there was such a thing as ap pre-calc.

In our school, we have an agreement with our local community college that they'll give us so many credit hours if we pass a test and take the class. It's free, and you just have to get an A or B. Not sure how many credit hours I'm getting, and it's called "College Algebra", I think. I didn't get any credit for it last semester, but I got a high enough score on the ACT's to qualify.

And, I think Pre-Calc and Math Analysis are the same thing.

Ah, we call it Honors. Used to be TAG (Talented And Gifted) but that was "condescending to the less talented and gifted students" so now it's honors.

I knew this boy two grades behind me that was taking 10th grade math when he was in 7th grade! (I was in 9th at the time) I was taking Basic Algebra when he was taking Geometry...I got up to Algebra 2 for my senior year, and he was already in AP Calc. :eek:

I've since long graduated from HS, and that boy is in 11th grade now...I'm not even sure if he's taking College Algebra or whatever...

I thought it was total insanity how that guy was smart enough to be 3 grades ahead in math. :eek:

There's an 8th grader taking Trig/Pre-Calc right now. He just never applies himself, so his grades suck, but my god. I was taking geometry then....Trig would have been so over my head.
