From the first season (with the facial tick, and the chalkboard in "Showdown Part 2").... we all knew Diane was a pyscho.


But now that I watch Season 5 on TVLand (thanks to the marathon.... if you're home before 7.... tune in!).... I realize how much of a PSYCHO Diane is.

Especially in "Chambers Vs. Malone".... she's just a psycho.



I wonder.... maybe she was always meant to be kind of "out-there".... or did the crew just resent her for leaving??

Of course you cannot forget her breakdown that sent her to the institution.

Don't know about psycho as much as just being a snobby weirdo. All the big words she uses, WIDE mood swings (turns down Sam's proposal, then teases that eventually they'll marry). Sam makes a good point in an ep saying he feels dumb when he's around Diane, which was so true. I was glad to see Shelley leave as I felt her character had been exhausted.

That's what I love about her! She is a psycho! The funniest psycho that ever was on tv.

haha I Love how she can't deal with the order of the pad and pencils "but what I CAN'T have is Pencil Pad Pencil!"

I love that seen so much with the pads and pencils........Its soooooooooooo funny!!!!!

Diane Chambers is my favorite character! Her pyschicness makes her more fun to watch, lol! I've been watching it on Nick at Nite. Do any of you know what season that's in?

Also, I saw this hilarious episode involving a Ernest Hemingway novel, and Sam getting in wet in the bath tub...what is that episode called so I can tape it when it comes on again.

Ms. Chambers, no doubt had her issues, but she was one lovable nut. When she went to live with the nuns, I knew she was losing it. :crazy:

Thats one of my favorite episodes.
It airs on my local station on Monday.

Also, I watched the episode where Sam got a hernia and thought he was old! lol Then Diane visited him in his hospital room, started reading on his bed and he was wanted her, lol! Diane was so proud and said, "You want sex. [he gets close to her] You're not going to get it." I thought that was funny. She can be such a tease, and I think that's what drives Sam nuts!
