There have been arguments in the past, but this past week has been absolutely ridiculous! I don't expect everybody to agree on everything, but is it necessary to have all this name calling? I hope this ends soon because I'm considering pulling this whole FOL board offline (and if it goes, so will the Fan Fiction and Division boards). I don't need to deal with this every day, for the most part it has lost its' enjoyment.

I'm not going to hesitate banning anyone who continues to cause trouble!

What would help keep this board on track and friendly to all would be to strictly limit discussion to the characters of FOL and not the actors/actresses. We are not mature enough to tolerate or cope with opinions that dissent from our own views and opinions.

I really enjoy the boards and would HATE to see them go but this board is crazy...I spend most of my time on the Division Fan Fic b/c I like to read fanfic...which is what this originally was...But I understand I just hope it doesn't have to go that far.

Most of the people that post on these boards are kids and teens. Yeah, there's some GenXers like me, but most are kids who saw FOL for the first time on NAN. It's unrealistic and unreasonable to expect these kids to act like adults. Go ahead and pull the boards if it's too much trouble for you, but you'll be losing alot of visitors, including me.

It doesn't matter whether or not most posters here are gen-exers. Age is irrelevant. It all comes down to respect. And I know that EVERYONE understands respect, regardless of age.

It's quite common sense. You wouldn't caught dead fighting IN PUBLIC about "Blair is better....no Tootie's better" in real life.
If so, do you know how ridiculous you'd look? So why bring such battles to this board?

Politness isn't only reserved for face-to-face encounters! And AGE is no excuse to act immature. I know lots of kids who are more mature than some adults I know!

Kids fight over lots of things. They are KIDS. I would NOT be shocked to see two kids arguing over Jo or Blair, in public, at home, at school, wherever. And no, sadly, not everyone understands respect.

O.k. That's true. There, I ADMIT it. NOT everyone knows respect. Very true, especially kids.

I'm just trying to give TJ a hand in persuading people to calm down. He made this board for us to use. He's not making any money off it or anything. IT's a favor to us.

But if people only come here to create war, then I'm 100% behind him in taking the boards down. I'm sure that creating fights is not why he put it up to begin with.

Sadly, there are people (NOT just kids) who have the first reaction to fight rather than discuss.

I just don't find it cool to see someone cursing and putting down other fans...and then saying something like "I'm a kid, so I'm allowed".

T.J. it's your call. Do what you have to do. If shutting down this section of the board will help drown out some of the nasty words, conflict and ugly remarks towards people, I say go for it. It's ashame when things are here for us to enjoy but we abuse them. I like the FOL board too, but things can go too far at times.

I really dont want this board to go. I have met some of the nicest, coolest peeps here. And I hope to keep meeting new people from the board. I came here for the first time at the end of last year cause I thought no one else felt the same bout FOL as I did. I was wrong!!! It turns out 1000's of people do. So please dont take the board down because some people cant act mature. And I think its ok for a "kid" to like FOL. I doesnt matter what age you are or when you started liking it, as long as you like it,in my opinion.

I totally agree. Some people take things a little to seriously. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion about which actor/actress they think is the best and which they think is the worst, but they shouldn't cause a fight about it. If you decide to "diss" an actor/actress publicly on any message board you can almost certainly expect a fight from those to like the actor/actress. And if a fight occurs and you decide to be part of it you must suffer the consequenses...for example, getting kicked off or getting your post closed. If you are willing to risk that happening to you then sure post a topic that not everyone agress with, but if you do that.. and it gets out of control, be prepared. As I said before, everyone is entitled to their own opinion but just be careful about the way that you word it.
And even though I don't want the boards to be closed down, I can understand why TJ wants to shut it down. There have been so many fights lately and it sorta gets out of control. I mean, the people who post stuff that not everyone agrees with is risking the boards being closed down FOR EVERYONE! If one person takes the fall, they bring down everyone else with them.

I totally agree--the same thing happens on the Lisa Whelchel fan board. One person has a comment or jokes around or something and everyone jumps on them. I joked around once and was basically called, a loser, a freak, a ******, immature. No one took the time to ask how I meant what I said. I got some really inappropriate stuff. It got to the point where I was afraid to post any fan fiction or make any jokes at all. Ganging up on one person is never okay, guys. These boards should be fun--I thought that these boards were you silly little stress relieving things. G-d, life is stressful enough with this going on. People are entitled to their own opinions and telling someone that not only are they wrong, they're ******** as well is vicious.
