I found out tonight that N@N is being taken away from people who subscribe to the Dish Network. That is very good news for Dish Network subscibers. Now I wish Comcast will take N@N away from me-LOL I'm so JEALOUS of people who have the Dish Network Tonight.

They aren't just getting rid of N@N. For those "lucky" people who have Dish Network, they are also getting rid of CBS, VH1, MTV, Comedy Central, Regulsar Nick (obviously) and, I'm assuming, TV Land.

Well i didn;t include the other channels because MTV, VH1, Comedy Central, and BET because they have nothing to do with this board. I was actuallu going to do another post-TITLED BAD NEWS- in Chit Chat

I saw that too; luckily I have DirecTV (I could care less, get rid of N@N; but Nick is popular with the kids). Why the heck are they going to get rid of all those Viacom channels?

Rate hike dispute.

AND NOTHING IS SAID ABOUT TV LAND. This is all it says on Dish's website:

BET - Comedy Central - MTV - MTV2
Nick Games & Sports
Nickelodeon/Nick at Night (East and West)
NOGGIN - VH1 - VH1 Classic

However, if they do ditch TVLand, I'm switching to Direct even if I do think it sucks.

Hmm.

Thanks.

Well, on the scroll I saw during All in the Family, I think it said TV Land too; but since it's not on Dish Network's site, then it won't be I guess.

This isn't the first time Dish Network has had channel problems. An ABC Affiliate out of Birmingham, Alabama was yanked off the air for a few days last year because of this same thing, a dispute between it and Echostar.

Annoying.

After seeing the N@N lineup for last night for 1am to 3am, i would send the Dish Network a Thank You Card for taking the channel away from me

1am-Cheers
1:30m-Cheers
2am-Roseanne
2:30-Roseanne
3am-Wings

After seeing that lineup, Dish Network is making the right MOVE-LOL

I'm hearing now that Dish Network and Viacom is about to reach an agreement. So your channels may not be removed

Well, I know Nick@Nite is bad now, but what if they add some shows you want to see later on? Then you'd be complaining like crazy. I'll be happy when Who's the Boss? comes this June.

It's better to have the channel then not at all. If you don't like the channel, it's simple -- CHANGE THE CHANNEL.

I don't like this change at all, they are taking away all of my Nickelodeon's, MTV's, and they are planning to take away Comedy Central!... Unlike you, I actually want my MTV, and Nick @ Nite!

I called the 800 number, and all Dish Network wants us to do is to call Viacom instead, and blame them for the high rates.

Wings
Cheers
Roseanne

Good...because if their site is lying and TVL is removed, I'll be pissed. The others, I don't care about.

So if they were to remove those channels, would you look into Digital Cable?

I was wondering why they were airing a black bar blocking the 1-800 message.

MichaelLutton

i was thinkng the same think.how could we call.and.the black bar is blocking the number lol.

E* (BDish Network) is running the black bar over Viacom's message to keep you from seeing Viacom's spin on things (Personally, I think they're both FoS, but that's another story entirely).

Basically, the bar says that it's Dish Network's fault for being unreasonable, and to call *them* (Insert Number)

Dish dosen't want you to hear Viacom's spin, so they block it out.

Apparently something went wrong because the battle between Viacom and Dish Network has erupted. I don't think taking these channels off the air will serve Dish very well. I know that if I had Dish Network, I would be unsubscribing right now. Viacom is ultimately going to win, they ought to just agree to Viacom's terms.

Exactly, how many people do Dish Network think will still keep service after removing all those channels.

Well maybe Viacom will negotiate with Dish, I have Cox Cable and they were argueing with ESPN and they finally came to a mutual agreement. Cox customers were in threat of losing all the ESPN channels and they were able to settle their problemsm so maybe Viacom will meet Dish half way. JMO
