"Truck Stop" was boring??? I thought that was classic!!

Boring episodes were ones where they tried to make spinoffs, like Brian and Sylvia, the Boxing episode, Natalie in New York. The Bates episode was okay, kinda sorta. And Jo's cousin. And there are probably more, but I can't think of them all.

I forgot about FOL goes to Paris *yawn!*
and I get pretty ancy during Big Apple Blues too.

And the reason why I don't like Come Back to the Truckstop is because I'm not into those fantasy eps. To me they're boring.

ABlairican Pie

Okay, I guess I can see that. It's kind of jumbled up when it gets too spontaneous. I did think some parts of that were funny! I guess I like it because I sympathize with Natalie trying to write something out of nothing, I should know, I'm a writer.

That truck stop one was a bit dull, I don't like fantasy episodes of shows much either.
I liked the "Dream Marriage" fantasy episode though.

I think that the 2 part episode where Jo dates his teacher and the 2nd part was even more boring with that really annoying kid from Kindergarten Cop. GOD I CAN'T STAND HIM! I don't think I have seen any other boring episodes. I think they really should of had another season. Just leaving that whatever her name is (the girl that has trouble at Eastland in the last time) I think her name it was Terry.

No, Golden Oldies is the one where they imagine life in the future when they're all really old. Its pretty funny. 62 Pick Up is the one where they go back to the 60s. Its an awesome episode.. its a lot better than Golden Oldies.

The little boy from 'Taking a Chance on Love' was in Kindergarten Cop?? That doesn't make sense, time-wise. If he was a little boy in the FOL ep in 1984, he couldn't have played a 5-year-old in Kindergarten Cop in the early 90's. Maybe I am not understanding what you mean??

Just remember though, I watched a big time t.v. awards show where "Truck Stop" was nominated for a best script award. This was in the 80s. (Was this on the Emmies? I forget, it was on NBC though.) So it can't be that bad. (or CAN it?? )

I would rate "Brian and Sylvia" as the most boring episode ever. But since none of the regular cast was a big part of it, I can give them a past. The most boring episode with the regular cast is "The Marriage Brokers".

For me, some of the most boring episodes would be any of the season 7 featuring URCHIN ANDY on it: 'Born too late' must be by all means the most BORING one of them all!

I would say the most boring episode is "Brian and Sylvia". I know it's a backdoor pilot for a new series but I don't think it would have worked.

Another episode I don't like at all is "Advance Placement". Natalie is one of my favorite characters but in AP I can't stand her

Have no fear valentina, Eightsy is here!

I have very fond memories of Brian & Sylvia. :loveya: I like Tootie and Natalie's parts in it (and the two elder girls bidding them farewell at the beginning with Mrs. Garett), the feeling of being in "the big city" with the two younger girls, I think Ja'Net DuBois is a hoot, I like Brian & Sylvia's apartment, and with my love and fascination of television at such a formative age, seeing the inside of a television studio and director's booth really had an effect on me as a child. With all of this and the personal nostalgia factor, it's my favorite of the spin-off attempts.

I would definitely pick a later season episode for a most boring one. Namely, Jazzbeux (more like Jazzbooooorriiiinnnnng) :sleep2:

Yeah, Jazzbeau is another lame episode. And the one in which Jo talks to that computer is silly, too.

Don't worry, Valentina . For the most part, the early episodes are very good, but there are several later episodes that are great too, season 8 in particular. Season 5 has a couple of episodes that, like Christopher has said multiple times, are depressing or boring.

Sorry but i don't agree with you this time FOL FAN ITA:crazy:

Season 5 is the best 'Edna's Edibles' era, and there is NO boring episodes in it!

I know you and Christopher are a big fan of season 8, but i would choose season 5 & 6 together over it! (in my opinion BLAIR became too much of a POD by then, and you know that she is my favourite character, but what the writers did to her is unforgivable lol!)

I also think it's interesting that a criticism of B&S some fans make is that any of the regular cast is barely in it. Actually Tootie and Natalie are there nearly all the time. They're off screen in the guest bedroom when Brian and Sylvia are fighting. They're off screen in the director's booth during the TV studio scenes. They also have scenes in both of those segments, but even when they're not on camera, they're still "there". About the only scene without them is when we first meet Brian and Sylvia and Sylvia's mother, before they arrive.

Jazzbeau
Brian & Sylvia

Those are three good picks. I'd add Jo's Cousin and the one where Jo meets her future husband at the community center. There's also one where Pippa gives various facts and figures about Australia. She drones on for so long the camera operator fell asleep.

I don't have a problem with Tootie and Natalie or the main story. I think "Brian and Sylvia" should have aired as a pilot of its own, like the first episode of many shows, not as a backdoor pilot for a spin-off, like "The Girls School"
