I don't know how weird this is (I do it all the time, so it's probably pretty weird), but I'll put it up for discussion anyway. :D

There are certain songs for me that trigger memories of TV shows, characters, or movies whenever I hear them. Now there are songs that I can't even listen to anymore without thinking of their Hollywood counterparts.

I think something like this has been done on the Cheers board, because I remember somebody bringing up a song that fit Sam and Diane's relationship perfectly. I think it might be fun to come up with some more for other shows. *crosses fingers* :p

Just about every song that has been used on The Wonder Years reminds me not only of the show, but of the scene in which it was played. :music:

Well obviously.... the themesong.

For "Seinfeld".... a song by Green Day called "Good Ridance"

For "Cheers" -- "The Magnificent Seven" theme, any song by the Righteous Brothers (i think thats what they're called)

No Doubt's "Don't Let Me Down" always reminds me of SBTB, I don't know why though.

A Horse with No Name - Reminds me of "NewsRadio" because it was Dave's favorite song. In an episode he gives a tape recorder to Bill, and Bill pushes play, and it's Dave singing that song. Dave then grabs the tape recorder and says, "Let's get you a fresh tape."

Here Comes the Sun - Not a sitcom, but when I hear this song I always think of the Tim Daly "Fugitive" series. They used this song in an episode, so I always link the song to the series.

Moon River - I don't hear it much, but it always reminds me of "Wings" because it was Lowell's favorite song. In like four episodes, Lowell can be found singing it.

Obsession - I guess that's the name of the song - I always think of "Get a Life." Because it was used in an episode where Chris falls in love with a woman, and then stalks her.

Wooly Bully reminds me of Moonlighting. :D Curtis Armstrong (Booger) sang it at the end of a short ML episode to kill time. One of the best renditions I've ever heard.

Along the same lines, whenever I hear "Be My Baby" by the Ronettes, I think of Moonlighting. That was the song playing in "The Big Bang Scene," or, for those of you not familiar with the show, the scene in which Dave and Maddie "do it." :D

At least three songs remind me of certain Daria episodes:

"What Do You Want From Me?" by Monaco, which was played during Daria's brief attempt to dress like Quinn in "Quinn the Brain." Seems like standard power-pop, but that's okay with me.

"Everlong," by Foo Fighters, which ran in the episode "Lane Miserables" when Daria saw Trent drive off with Monique. I frequently find it depressing as a result.

"Drive" by Incubus, which was one of two closing themes of the second TV-Movie and series finale "Is It College Yet?" I've actually appreciated that song much more since then.

I wish I could think of other songs that remind me of other shows, but I'll live.

"Standing Still" reminds me of the 50th anniversary of I Love Lucy.

"Take me a Picture" reminds me of Laverne & Shirley.

The Thong Song reminds me of The Lucy Show (particularly the show's first season).

"Fill Me In" by Craig David reminds me of Three's Company.

Both "Waiting For You Tonight" and "Meet Virginia" remind me of the time when Nick at Nite aired classics prior to the mid-70's such as Bewitched, Mary Tyler Moore, I Love Lucy, Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley, The Dick Van Dyke Show, The Jeffersons, The Wonder Years, The Brady Bunch, ect.

The updated remix of "Movin' on Up" reminds me of no other than The Jeffersons.

"Genie In The Bottle" by Christina Augiliar (sp?) reminds me of I Dream of Jeannie.

"Two Of Hearts" by Stacey Q always reminds me of the Facts Of Life episode she sang the song in.

"Sugar Water" by Cibo Matto and "Goodbye To You" by Michelle Branch both remind me of specific Buffy moments that the songs were used in.

"I Shall Believe" by Sheryl Crow reminds me of Liz and (future) Max's slow dance in an episode of Roswell.

"By Your Side" by Sade also reminds me of Sex And The City.

of course... all those songs were used in the specific scenes, so it's not like I heard a song and then decided "you know, this song fits ____"

Josh Groban sings a couple songs that remind me of TV shows. "You're Still You" reminds me of the episode of "Ally McBeal" in which he sang it. "To Where You Are" reminds me not only of the second time he was on "Ally", but (oddly enough) of "Chico and the Man", cuz the first time I heard the song was on a fellow SO member's website devoted to the late Freddie Prinze.

Anything by Jose Feliciano tends to also remind me of CATM, cuz he wrote and sang the theme song. Ditto anything by Tony Orlando, cuz he and Freddie were friends and appeared on each other's shows.

Foreigner's "Hot Blooded" -- WKRP's famous scene as Herb prepares for "A Date With Jennifer".

Any song that has to do with "magic" reminds me of Samantha and Darrin Stephens of Bewitched. Examples include "It's Witchcraft", "Fly Me to the Moon", "You Do Something To Me", and of course, "Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered".

Whenever I hear Ac/Dc's Touch Too Much I think of WKRP. They played that song while Les Nesman was putting on a wig in one of the episodes. It just always stuck in my mind, I can picture it even now.

Faith Hill's song "There you'll be" reminds me of the 3's Company finale. I know it's a love song but I think the lyrics justify what I think they felt about each other.

Anyone else remember on SBTB when Mr. Belding sang an incredibly off-key, horrible rendition of Nancy Sinatra's "These Boots Are Made For Walkin'"? Every time I hear that song, I think of SBTB.

I'd MUCH rather listen to Mr. Belding's version than Jessica Simpson's. At least his version was SUPPOSED to be funny. :p

A lot of Motown songs remind me of Murphy Brown, since that was Murphy's favorite kind of music. Particularly Aretha Franklin and "Natural Woman" b/c of Murphy's famous (and bad!) rendition of the song from the pilot. Also Barry Manilow's song, "I Am Your Child" reminds me of the episode about Murphy's son's first birthday, since it was played in that episode.

Last, but not least, "It's a Long Way to Tipperary" reminds me of the Last episode of MTM. :(

Whenever I hear My Girl it reminds me of the Full House episode where Danny sang it to DJ. Also the Teddy Bear song reminds me of when they sing it to Michelle.

Any 50s/60s song pretty much reminds me of Happy Days.
