I think if you said "Norm" people would know what you're talking about without even mentioning "Cheers". Same goes for "Frasier".


I think when people say "Lucy & Ethel" they mean best friends with CRAZY ideas.
Speaking of "Lucy & Ethel".... if I ever have twin girls.... Im naming them Lucy and Ethel.



And I also think if someone tells you that you have a "Sam & Diane" relationship that you'd know exactly what they meant.
Just one question.... what does it mean??

When you think of friends ... two names immedately come to mind ross and rachel...

Balki (Bartokomous), Laverne (DeFazio), Opie (Taylor), and Winnie (Cooper) are household names IMHO.

I am not too sure about Balki and Winnie, but the other two are more or less household names, I would agree. My contributions would be Hawkeye and to a lesser extent Radar and Hot Lips. If we are counting non-sitcoms, I would suggest Kirk, Spock and McCoy as additional household names.
