Jinny came home from a long day at work. When she walked through the door, Jack just stared at her.

Jack- Jinny are you okay?
Jinny- I'm fine, why do you ask?
Jack- You look so pale and your eyes look kinda weird.
Jinny- Is it another gang up on Jinny day? Well, no thanks I'm not sticking around for it.
Jack- Jinny I didn't say that to make you leave, I'm just worried about you. you haven't been yourself lately.
Jinny- Jack, I'm fine, I know how I feel, why wouldn't I be?
Jack- You look like your on something.
Jinny- Why would I be on something Jack? I was told nothing above the neck and that's it.
Jack- You still haven't answered me.
Jinny- No Jack I am not on anything. Satisfied?
Jack- No Jinny you don't get it. I know that you are on something, your eyes are bloodshot. You are very high, I can tell the way that you're acting. What is wrong Jinny?
Jinny- Nothing. I'm not on anything. I have been sober too long. I wouldn't risk it. You know that.
Jack- Maybe I should talk to Mag, see if she saw a difference in you, he said under his breathe
Jinny- What was that?
Jack- What? Nothing..nothing at all.
Jinny- Well I am going to take a shower. I will be out soon.
As soon as she went into the bathroom, Jack was finding Magda's number.
Magda- Hello?
Jack- Hi it's Jack.
Magda- Hey Jack. What's wrong?
Jack- Well it's Jinny.
Little did he know Jinny was standing in the doorway overhearing everything that he said to her.
Jack- Mag, I think that Jinny is on something. She doesn't seem herself lately. I was just wondering if you noticed anything out of the ordinary. Has she been different around you or anything?
Mag- Come to think about it, she hasn't been acting serious the past couple of days. She is like trying to be humorous about a killing. you know?

Jinny runs out of the doorway.

Jinny- What in the hell do you think that you're doing?
Jack- *Hung up the phone and Magda heard Jinny so understood why he hung up on her* Jinny I was just--
Jinny- Stabbing me in the back. I thought you were my friend and husband.
Jack- I am your friend and I am your husband. Husbands notice when their wives look funny and notice if they seem to be on something and I am telling you that you are definitely on something.
Jinny- I told you I wasn't. I am fine and I will be more fine if everyone would leave me alone.
Jack- We aren't going to leave you alone.
Jack- We care too much about you to let anything happen to you. Don't you understand that?
Jinny- Yeah you care....like you did when you forced me to go into rehab.....oh yeah sorry, i didn't know you then.....people have been doing this my whole life
Jack- I do care. That's just it. Everyone is doing this because we don't want to lose you.
Jinny- Yeah yeah. I need to take my shower now.
Jack- Just think about what I am trying to say please.
Jinny- I know exactly what you are trying to say and I am saying to you that it's not anything I haven't heard already.

Just then there was a knock on the door. Jack answered it, and it was Magda.

Mag- Where is she. Where is Jinny?
Jack- She is taking a shower. She will be really mad at me if she finds out that you are here. She will think that I asked you to come.
Mag- But you didn't. I came after you hung up on me. I was worried about her. She is my best friend. I was worried.
Jack- So I guess you can wait until she comes out.

-5 min later-

Jinny- So, what happened?
Jinny sees Magda in the corner of her eye.
Jinny- What is she doing here Jack? Did you invite her?
Jack- No I swear.
Magda- He didn't Jin. I came here on my own.
Jinny- Why? I told you and the whole world I am fine. Now why doesn't everyone just leave me the hell alone??
Magda- Because we are worried about you Jin. Please talk to us. What are you taking?
Jack- Jin, we know that you are on something. Magda agrees. You need help. You need our help.
Jinny- What the hell are you talking about?
Mag- Jinny, what's the matter?
Jinny- What's the matter is you all won't leave me the hell alone!
Jack- We will leave you along if you tell us what you are taking.
Jinny- Do I have to spell it out..fine. N-O-T-H-I-N-G!!!
Magda- All right. Fine.

She went to Jinny's room. Jack followed her. They checked her drawers and then went into the bathroom. They didn't find anything. Then they went into her bag. He then checked her coat pocket. He found the big bag of OxyContin that she had stolen from the evidence room.

Mag- What's this Jin?
Jinny- It's nothing. *Tries to get the bag out of his hand* They're mine! Give them back!
Jack- OxyContin? That's what you're on?
Jinny- No. I just picked them up for someone else to make some money. I know it was a mistake and it was wrong. I'm sorry I won't do that again.
Mag- Jinny, do you know what this is? U can get arrested for this. This is a felony. This is synthetic heroin. My god Jin, no wonder. I think that we should call CD and the Cap
Jack- NO, Jinny will lose her job, and then I don't think that we can save her. She will not be a very good person after that
Mag- Fine we won't call the Cap, but I am calling CD unless you are going to explain Jin.
Jinny- Explain what? I just won't do it anymore that's all.
Magda- Looks like I am calling CD.
Jinny- What for??
Mag- Because, if you won't tell me and Jack what is going on, maybe you will tell CD. She is a friend of yours. Maybe she means more to you that you will tell her. Hell, maybe you're afraid of her, and afraid she will call the captain if you don't tell her what's going on.

Mag gets on the phone.....CD....hey.....its mag.....can you come to Jinny's house........no its not me....its Jinny.....can you come.........now?.......good......thanks..........cya then....
Mag- CD is on her way. She doesn't know everything
yet, but she will soon know it all

Jinny- I told you. I was selling it someone. I know it was wrong and I won't do it again.
Magda- Well we don't believe you.
Jack- No way.
Jinny- But you didn't have to call CD. She will tell Captain for sure. You know how she gets when she is mad.
Magda and Jack at the same time- EXACTLY!
Jinny- So what you are saying is that you want me to lose my job? You don't care if I lose my job or not. You just want to look like the heroes?
Mag- Jinny, that's not fair. We are trying to help you. CD won't tell. She is our friend.
::Knock, Knock::
Mag answers the door-Hey CD! Come on in. Jinny's in here. We have a little problem.
CD walks in and sees the bag labeled OxyContin
CD- What are these?
Magda- These belong to Jinny. She took them from a crime scene and is going to sell them to make a little more money.
CD looks into Jinny's eyes and it is clear to her that Jinny had been using a lot and for a while.
CD- I don't buy that for a second. Tell me where you really got these and don't try lying to me.
Jinny- I'm not lying, there not really mine. I swear that they aren't.
CD- I know that you are using Jin, I can see it in your eyes. So why don't you just tell us what is going on.
Jinny- Alright. I took some. I am not addicted or anything. I was just having trouble sleeping so I took some.
Jack- Why didn't you just tell us this before?
Jinny- Because you would think I was a drug addict.
Magda- You are Jinny.
CD- I think the Captain should know. She has a right.
Mag- NO Captain can't know because I think that Jinny might lose her job. She confessed. We can get her help. She obviously wanted help or she could have kept denying it.
CD-I don't think that it is right to not include her on this. This is about Jinny, and I think that she should know.
Jinny- CD, I'll lose my job. I'm not addicted. I shouldn't have stolen them, but still i don't want to lose my job. I'll die
Magda- CD can I talk to you privately?
CD- Sure.
Magda pulled her to another room while Jack stayed with Jinny.
Magda- CD I believe her. She won't live through this. She will kill herself.
CD- Well what else are we going to do?
Magda- I don't know but there's got to be another way.

Meanwhile Jack was talking to Jinny

Jack- I should have seen this earlier before it got out of control. I'm sorry Jinny.
Jinny- I decided to do this Jack. It wasn't you or Magda's fault. I shouldn't have done this to begin with. I just needed something to help me sleep and something just happened to be that.
Jack- I still should have recognized something was up.

Mag walks in with CD
Mag- I should have noticed something too.
CD- Fine, I wont' tell the Captain, Even though i think that she should know
Jinny- She shouldn't know. I got it under control.
Magda- No you don't. You aren't taking any more of these.
Jinny- Fine. I can deal without them.
CD- Magda and I will be watching you at work and Jack will be watching you at home. If this doesn't work we are putting you in a rehab.
Jinny- Fine.

She was just playing along because she knew she had some more stocked away in her room

CD- See now they are giving you the easy part of this. If this was up to me, it wouldn't be this easy. The captain would find out, and you would be in a rehab again so fast. Either that, or in jail.
Jinny- That's why I'm glad that my best friend is here.

CD took this really personal, and decided it was time for her to leave. She got up and left not saying a word to anyone.

Jinny- Did I say something wrong?
Magda- Well you didn't say thank you or anything to her.
Jinny- I will apologize tomorrow when I see her at work.
Jack- I don't think so.
Jinny- What do you mean?
Magda- You aren't going to work tomorrow.
Jinny- Why?!
Jack- I have seen junkies off of this stuff. You will be too sick to be working.
Jinny-I'm not a JUNKIE! And I am going into work tomorrow.
Mag- No you're not, or we will call Captain. Got it?
Jinny- Are you blackmailing me??
Jack- Absolutely!
Magda- Deal?
Jinny- Fine. *Mumbles* If I am here.
Magda- What?
Jinny- I didn't say anything Mag, so just go and leave me alone.

Jinny went to sleep and Jack fell asleep by mistake he didn't do it on purpose, just was really tired, and fell asleep
He woke up to find Jinny gone! He searched everywhere. He looked in every room. He finally found her in the bathroom. She was on the floor. She was unconscious.
Jack- Jinny! Oh my God.

He then found a bag next to her.
Immediately he called 9-1-1 only worried about saving her. then after that while he was waiting for the ambulance, he called Magda which was at her house faster than 9-1-1 responded.
they went to the hospital and waited to hear from them
finally the doctor came out

Doc- Who's here for Exstead?
Mag and Jack-We are!
Doc- She is stable now, she had a lot of drugs in her, and we weren't sure if she was going to make it but she is doing fine
Magda- Can we see her.
Doctor- One at a time please. She is still upset.
Magda- Alright. Would you like to go first?
Jack- No you can. You are her best friend after all.
Magda- OK thanks.
She went into Jinny's room to find her crying.
Magda- Honey..Jin it's me.
Jinny sat up when she realized she wasn't alone in the room
Jinny- Mag? OMG Mag. I really didn't do this on purpose although you might think that I did. I needed to get some in my system
that's all. And I just needed some, and I ended up taking them all.
I was so afraid that I was going to die and never get to see you again.
Mag- It's ok Jinny. You're safe now. But now we need to get you help.
Jinny- Mag, I could have killed myself. I can't believe that i was that stupid. I would have hurt you. I know that and I'm sorry. I love you Mag, and I just don't want to be a disappointment anymore
Magda- You're not a disappointment. You just need some help Jin.
Jinny- I am willing to get help.
Magda- Really?
Jinny- Yes.
Magda- Then I need to hear you say it.
Jinny- I .. need .. help.

Magda smiled. She hugged Jin and left so Jack could come in.

Jack- Jin?
Jinny- Jack I am soo sorry I ju--
Jack- Shush. It's ok. You don't need to explain right now. I am just glad you are alive.
Jinny- I just want to explain it to you so you understand
Jack- It's not important. You're alive. And I love you Jinny.
Jinny- I love you too.

The Doctor came in.

Doctor- Im sorry to interrupt but I need to talk to Jinny.
Jack- Okay I will leave.
Jinny- No stay. Bring Magda in too. If that's okay.
Doctor- Go ahead.

Jack left and brought Magda.

Doctor- Okay Jinny I know this was a suicide attempt and I feel I need to bring a special doctor who knows about this kind of thing in here to talk to you.
Jinny- I don't need any doctors. I got my family.

She grabbed Jack and Magda's hand.

Jinny- And that is what will make it work. That's all I need my family which seems to be right here.

Jack-Jinny, we want you to go to rehab. We think that you need the extra help there instead of us trying to help you out. I think that professionals need to look at you, and you need the program. We will be with you every step of the way.
Jinny-No Jack, I want to just stop this whole thing. I don't need rehab, I need my family, and I need you and Magda to help me. We can do it together.
Magda- Are you sure? This is going to be very hard to do.
Jinny- I just need my family.
Jack- We will be there every step of the way.
Jinny- Thank you. I love you guys.
Magda- We love you too.

The next day she went home and began her new life as a drug free woman again.

Jinny had to admit to herself that she was afraid. She never lived her life totally sober, and was afraid of what that meant.
Jinny-Mag, are you sure that you are going to like who I am sober? I mean you never really knew the sober Jinny. Are you sure that is waht you want? What you both want?
Jack- Positive. At least it will be the real you. Not a you that is being cruel or mean because of alcohol or drugs. We just want you back no matter how she acts or how mean she is.
Jinny- Aww thanks Jack. You really mean that?
Jack- Absolutely.
Magda- I just want my old partner back too.
Jinny hugged the both of them.

Jinny-I'm just a little nervous because like I said, this has never happened to me while I wasn't drinking. I just think that I'm not going to be able to do it. That's all.
Jack-You can do it and we will help.

That Night....

Jinny-I can't do this anymore Mag, I can't. I need a drink or I need something. I feel like I am going to go out of my mine. I need something!
Magda- No. You can do this. Can we get you something to eat?
Jinny- Yeah get me some Oxy to eat and I will be fine.
Jack- No. You can do this you can. I know it's hard and painful but you can do it.
Jinny- I feel like I am going to be sick. *Covers her mouth and runs to the bathroom*
Magda- We have to watch her. Let's go.
Magda-Jinny, are you ok? Do you need anything?
Jinny-I told you what I need, can you get out and let me alone?
Jack-No I can't. Neither will Mag. You need to be watched. We don't want you to try anything else stupid. You gave us permission to do this, and we are not going back on it now.
Jinny-I take it back. I take it all back!
Jack-You're not in your right mind now, and we will call the Captain if you have a problem with this.

Jinny- Go ahead. Call her. I just know I can't do this anymore.
Magda- Fine. *Magda walks over to the phone*
Jinny- No wait! Don't call her. I will try again.
Jack- Good. Now do you want anything?
Jinny- Can I have something to drink?
Jack- Sure what?
Jinny- *Mumbles* Scotch and soda.
Jack- What?
Jinny- A soda is fine.
Magda-You have to try Jin. You aren't doing anyone any good if you don't try anything.
Jack-Jin, we are only doing this because we love you and we want to see you better.
Jinny-I know, but it's too hard.

Jack- Lots of things are hard but you are going to have a much harder time if you don't quit.
Jinny- I know that but I don't know if I can do this.
Later on that night, she finally fell asleep. Magda and Jack were talking.
Magda- Do you think she can do this?

Jack-I think that the Jinny I know can do anything she wants to as long as that is what she wants.
Magda-But this isn't the Jinny that you know. This is going to totally be a different person. This is going to be the sober Jinny that neither of us met before.
Jack walks in to make sure that Jinny is still sleeping, but he doesn't see her. He calls Mag, and they look around for her, but can't seem to locate her. Then Jack checks in the closet, and she was sitting on the floor huddled in a corner shivering.
I Made4Madden I: Jack-What's wrong Jinny?
Jinny-I just had a feeling that something bad was going to happen becasue he told me so.
Magda-Who told you? Where is this person?
Jinny-Standing right behind you.
Magda turns around to find noone. At this point she totally thinks that Jinny lost it, but it might just be the withdrawal hullusinations.
Magda-Jinny, noone is there. I checked. I didn't find anyone.
Jinny-I know Mag, that's because only I can see him, and he told me that if I don't get a drink in me he will make something bad happen to me.
Jack- It's okay come with us.
Jinny- No! I can't. I am too frightened. He will do something to me.
Magda- Come on sweetie. He won't touch you. We are right here.
Jinny- *Gets up slowly while keeping her eye on the spot the "Guy" was standing on.
So she got back in to bed and Jack and Magda stayed in the room with her. She finally fell asleep. Magda and Jack went across the room so they could talk and be watching her at the same time.
Magda- Now she is seeing things. Is this supposed to be happening??
Jack- Yes. It is just the psychological side effects. She will have outbursts like that.
Jinny- *Having a bad dream* MOM!!! MOM DON'T GO!!!!!! I NEED YOU! DON'T LEAVE ME!!

Jinny wakes up in a cold sweat screaming "Mom! Mom! Please don't go. I love you. I want to know why you did it!"
Magda runs over to Jinny and trys to wake her up, but it doesn't work. "Jinny wake up. Jinny! Jinny are you ok?"

Finally Jinny wakes up and jumps when she sees Mag, and then looks over where Jack is and sees the Man. "Jack look out, the man is right next to you and he is holding something, but I can't see what it is. Don't do anything to him or I swear to god!"

Jack-Jinny noone is over here. Would you feel better if I came over to you?
Jinny nodded, so Jack got up and went over to the bed and laid next to her.
Jinny- Oh Jack please don't leave me. Please don't. I can handle another person leaving me. Once you get close to someone they leave and I don't want to lose you.
Jack- You will never lose me. I love you and I always will love you. You can try to get rid of me but I won't budge.
Jinny- Thank you. And Magda, you won't leave me either will you?
Magda- Never. You are my partner. Partnerships are forever and ever and ever.

::flashback::

Jinny walks into the bathroom to find her mom in the bathroom bleeding really bad. She doesn't know what to do. So, she runs as far as she can. She comes home a couple hours later to a large amount of cops in the house.

::end of flashback::

Jinny jumps up and tryes to run not knowing what she is doing. The only thing that she knows is that she needs to stop the flashbacks. She can't let this keep happening.

::flashback::

To when her brother, John Jr., died in the line of duty, and the look on her face when she found out. She remembered that. She knew that she wanted to see John Jr again, and she was so afraid of losing someone else. First her mom, then John Jr, and afraid of losing someone else.

::end of flashback:

Jack-Jinny, calm down. Stop trying to get away. What's wrong? What is happening?
Jinny-I don't remember. Is John Jr. dead?
Jack- Yes Jinny John Jr died.
Jinny- *Starts crying* See? Another person has left my life. No one wants me around!!!
Jack- We do! We want you here.
Magda- Everyone does. CD, Nate, Raina, Kate,--
Jinny- Kate?? She hates me more than anything.
Magda- She doesn't. You two were finally getting along.
Jinny- She just doesnt like me ok? No one does.
Magda- Jinny we do! Understand that. We love you very much!
Jinny-Mag, I know that Cap doesn't like me. She doesn't think taht I should have been a cop, and I know that. It's fine.......(gets cut off)
Magda-Fine I'll prove to you that she likes you.....(picks up the phone).....Captain, hey its Magda, yeah I'm here with Jinny. No she is still in bed. She is still sick, but she wanted to know if you liked her.....I know that you do, btu she doesn't think that you do.......ok sure.....Here Jin, she wants to talk to you....
Jinny-Hey Cap, I'm not really feeling up to talking. Yeah we can talk later, bye.
Magda- Jinny why did you do that?
Jinny- Becasue I didn't feel like a lecture.
Magda- Why are you being so difficult?
Jinny- Im not I just fell weird and I am tired. I just want to go to-- *Stopped and didnt speak for a minute*
Jack- What's the matter?
Jinny- NO YOU CAN'T!!! DONT HURT THEM! THEY ARE ALL I GOT!!!
Magda- What are you talking about?
Jinny- The man is going to hurt you if I don't drink. I have to get a drink. *Gets up*
Jack- No. Stay here. No one will hurt us.
Jinny- I am not taking the chance.
She ran out to the kitchen and Magda and Jack couldn't catch up with her. She finally reached the liquor cabinet and grabbed some vodka and opened the bottle.
Magda ran over as fast as she could and got the bottle before Jinny had a chance to drink any. She dumped it down the drain. Jinny started to cry.
Jinny-If I don't drink that, he will hurt you. I can't let him do that.
Magda and Jack decided that the only way that she was going to cooperate is if she coudln't move. They decided they had to cuff her to the bed so that she couldn't drink or hurt herself. And they did
Jinny- NO!! LET ME GO!!! I WAS TRYING TO HELP YOU!!!
Magda- And we are doing this to help you.
Jinny- YOU HATE ME!! THAT'S WHY YOU ARE DOING THIS!! LET ME GO! I--
She fainted right there from panicing.
Jack- Jinny? Jinny?? Wake up!!
MissJinnyExstead: Magda- She's just fainted it's ok.
Jack- No Mag. Look at her.
Jinny was not moving and had turned a shade of red. Jack was getting very scared.
Magda called an ambulance and the Captain just in case she wanted to be there, which she did. Mag didn't know what to do. Watchign her best friend lying on the ground like that and not movie was so scarry, she didn't know what to do.
Then the ambulance arrived and they took Jinny to the hospital, but noone would tell them what was wrong with her.

Captain soon arrived and saw Magda and Jack in the waiting room.

Kate- What happened?
Magda- Is this off the record?
Kate- Of course.
Magda- We were trying to get her to go cold turkey.
Kate- I thought she had stopped drinking.
Magda- Not drinking. She got addicted to synthetic heroin.
Kate- What??
Jack- Captain please. Don't fire her. She has to work.
Magda- If she doesnt, I don't even want to imagine what will happen to her.
Jack- We are begging you. Don't report her. Please?
Captain-I am not here right now as her boss, I am here as her friend. I am worried about her, and hopefully we can get her to quit.
Magda-So you won't say anything to the DA about this?
Jack-Because I know right now she is not herself, but I don't want to totally lose her.
Magda- Thank you Captain. I really appreciate this. So does Jinny.
Captain- How long has this been going on?
Magda- We just found out a few days ago. Who knows how long she has been using.
Captain- She did seem a little out of the ordinary but I didn't think it was anything like this.
Jack- We didn't expect it either.

Magda- We have been trying to help her and it got so bad we had to handcuff her and then she fainted and turned red and we all got scared so we called an ambulance.
Captain- I am glad that you did.
Jack- They won't tell us anything.
Captain- Don't worry about that.
She walked over to the nurse and came back a few minutes later.
Captain- The doctor will be coming out shortly.
Magda- How did you do that?
Captain- I am Captain.
Jack- Oh right. *Laughs briefly*
Then the doctor came out.
Doctor- Family of Jinny Exstead?
All at once-Yes we all are.....What's the matter?

Doctor- Well she was severly dihydrated. We got her on fluids now and we would like to keep her overnight. She is asking for you.
Magda- Can we all go in?
Doctor- Sure. She is in room 129.
Captain- Thank you Doctor.
Magda went in right away and didn't bother making sure that it was the right room or anything. She had a guy feeling that it is where Jinny was and she just went there. Inside the room she found Jinny. She ran over and hugged her."Jinny I was soooo worried. Someone came here just to see you."
Jinny- *weakly* Who?
Captain came into the room with Jack.
Captain- Hello.
Jinny- *Sat up quickly* Captain. What are you doing here?
Captain-It's ok, I come in peace.
She was trying to joke around, but it wasn't seemed to work.
Captain-Jinny, what happened?
Jinny- Well I assumed that Mag and Jack have already told you.
Captain- They told me some but I want to hear it from you.
Jinny- I just have a problem. *Started crying* I don't know what to do.
Captain- It's ok. *Hugs her* You have your friends and family here to help you.
Captain-And that includes me. IF you ever need ANYTHING I'm here. Just ask for help. Can you do that?
Jack and Magda look at each other in disbelief as Jinny trys to tell Captain what's wrong.
Jinny- I just..I have a problem with drugs and I know I need help but..Im scared. I dont want anymore hurt in my life. I can't handle this anymore.
Captain- Yes you can. We are all here for you. We will help you through this.
Jinny- Thank you. Thank you all for being here for me.
Captain-We will always be here for you weather you need us or not, and weather you want us to help or not.
Jinny-I know and thank you. I love you all, and I know now that i need help, but I don't think taht I can explain why.
Magda-Sure you can, try.
Jinny- I just felt so alone. Like no one wanted me around. Then John died and I knew that anyone I got close to would leave. I was hurting all over. So I tried to make myself numb by filling my body pills and booze. Few days ago I tried to kill myself and thank god I didn't suceed. I tried to get help but I can't do it. I just can't. Someone will hurt the people I love if I don't drink.
Captain- Nothing is going to happen to us. We are here for you. Always.
Jinny-Cap, you don't understand. You say that nothing will happen to anyone else, but how do you know? Things always happen. I'd tell you to ask John Jr, but you can't because he found out what it was like for something to happen to him. He died, and I never got to tell him goodbye or tell him that I loved him. Noone understands that. I didn't get to tell my older brother goodbye. He will never know that even those times when I hated him for picking on Casey, I still love him, and I looked up to him.
Jinny-He NEVER told me that I had a problem. I guess he should have seen something. I mean him and dad were so close, and I thought that someone would notice something wasn't right and try to get me help, but noone did, and so I figured I was okay. Nothing was wrong with me. If something was wrong surely someone would have told me. But noone did. And now everyone is telling me this stuff all at once.
Magda-We are only doing this Jin, because we love you and we want you to love yourself.
Magda-I am your best friend, and I know that you don't love yourself right now. You need our help, and other people's help.

Jack looked at the Captain not knowing waht to say. He knew that it was true. He knew that she needed help and that he should have done something before to stop her, but he didn't.

Jack left the room crying. Jinny looked at Magda and then to the Captain.

Jinny-What did I do now? It always seems to be soemthing! Damn me, I have to screw up everything that I try to do, don't I Mag?
Magda- What are you talking about?
Jinny- That time in the alley. I was supposed to be your partner. I wasn't. I was a drunk. I didn't do my job. You almost died because of me.
Magda- My life was saved because of you. He almost blew my brains out but he didn't because you showed up and got them to leave. And then when we finally caught up with the bastards, you were in complete control.
You helped me. Now I am here to help you. I just want you to get better.
Jinny- I still put your life and mine on the line. Then I screwed up by killing someone.
Magda- Don't even say that. You saved you life and the life of that witness. You were the hero. Not the killer.
Jinny- I still killed someone. Cops are not supposed to kill. They are supposed to make the world a safer place.
Magda- And you made it a safer place by making sure that Officer Gangsley didn't hurt anyone else. Don't you see that?
Jinny- Doesn't change the fact. I still killed someone.
Captain went out with Jack to talk to him.
Captain-Jack, what is teh matter?
Jack-I can't stay in there and pretend that some of this is not my fault. most of it is. If it wasn't for me, Jinny probably would have never done this. Time could have changed everything. God knows what could have happened if I would never have met Jinny.
Just then, Jinny walked out with Magda.
Jinny- Jack that is not true. Things would have happened the same as they did. Don't blame yourself for this. This was not your fault.
Jack-I should have recognized the signs. I was one myself at a time too. I should have known that something was seriously wrong. But I didn't.
Jinny-I don't feel right.
Just then, Jinny fell to the ground and noone new why. The doctors came running and said that it was serious, and Magda started to cry.
Magda-Please don't take my partner. She is my best friend. And I love her. Please!
Captain had to hold Magda back so that the doctors could help Jinny.
I Made4Madden I: They took her into surgery, and then about 1 1/2 hours later, they came out
Doctor-Exstead Family?
All at once-US!!! What's wrong with her?
Doctor- This is very serious. We got her condition under control. Her liver isn't very good from all the drugs and alcohol. TThe only way to stop this from happening is to quit it all. Can she do that? If she doesn't she will die.
Captain- We will be sure she doesn't.
Magda- We will all help her.
Jack- Together.
Doctor- Ok. She is in her room. She is still unconsious from the anesthesia but you may go sit with her until she wakes up.
Magda- But if she quits drinking and using she will be fine right?
Doctor- Good as new.
Captain- Thank God.
Jack- Let's go sit with her. Thank you Doctor.
It was about 2 hours until Jinny woke up.
Jinny-Where am I? What's going on? What's wrong?
Captain-You are in the hospital. Do you remember anything from last night?
Jinny-No I only remember seeing that person.
Magda-Which person?
Jinny-The one that is sitting right behind you.
Magda got really scarred and turned around and didn't see anyone.
Magda asked to talk to the doctor out in the hall.
Magda-What's wrong with her? Why does she keep seeing things?
Doctor-I don't know. We never saw anything like this.
Magda went back in to be with Jinny. Jinny was screaming for Magda.
Jinny-Where were you Mag? I was afraid he got to you. Where were you?
Magda-Jinny, noone is going to do anything to me. I'm fine.
Jinny-Mag, you don't understand. I know that someone is out to get you. Why won't you listen to me?
Magda-Jinny calm down.
Jinny didn't listen and was histerical in minutes. She was starting to breathe funny.
Captain-Jinny, you remember now don't you?
Jinny-Remember what?
Captain-You know that your mother's dead. So is your brother. John Jr.
Jinny-OMG! He died? So that's why I did that....oh.
Magda-Did waht?
Jinny- I guess, drugs just made me feel like I don't need to worry about anything. It makes me feel good.
Magda- It feels good to kill yourself?
Jinny- Not that part. When I took my first pill, God I felt like a big weight on my shoulders was lifted. I didnt have any worries. Any problems. Now that I have to stop them, all the problems will come back. I don't know if I can handle them again.
Magda-If you handled it the first time, what makes you think that you could do it again?
Jinny-When I was using, you made me feel like I was important. I wasn't such a dissapointment to you or to the captain or to Jack. I was just this girl who everyone liked, but thought something was up with her. I know that what I was doing was wrong and not healthy, but you know that I was such a dissapointment to you. You even told me so. I made alot of mistakes in the time that you knew me, and the time that I joined the force and became your partner. I know that you didn't like me when I aws drinking.
Doing this just made it feel like I was fianlly excepted.
Mag-We love you no matter what Jinny. We thought that you knew that.
Captain-Why didn't you tell us about htis?
Jinny- Because if I told you, you would have to fire me for sure. I have made too many mistakes. My drinking, accidentally shooting a cop, all of my mistakes. If I lost my job..I .. would have nothing. Nothing to live for.
Captain- You are not going to loose your job. You are one of my best inspectors. I need you. Do you realize how many cases we would loose if you weren't working there? There would be lots of criminals out there on the streets. You help me a lot. We need you. Everyone needs you.
Jinny- Really?
Mag-Of course Jinny. Did you think that you meant nothing to us? You mean the world to us. You have no idea how much you really do mean to us. But Jin, you have to stop this. You have to get sober so that I can have my partner back.
Jinny-Wow, I never knew how much I meant to anyone.
Captain-Jin, we need you to get sober so that you can get back to work. Do you think that you can do that? For us? For all of us?
Jinny- I am not promising anything but you have my word that I will try my best. I swear. *gets eary* I just want to make everyone proud of me again. I don't want to be a junkie.
Magda went over to hug her partner. She tried to comfort her but it wasn't working.
Magda- Jinny what's wrong?
Jinny-I don't think that I can explain. There is so much stuff going on right now. I just don't know anymore. I don't know what is wrong with me. I mean how could I have been soooo stupid.
Mag-You're not stupid Jinny. You just need help. But we can't do it alone. You need to admit that you have a problem and you want help. Can you do that? For me?
Jinny-I.........
Mag-What is it Jin? What is the matter? Tell me, because you never know if I can help or not. Tell me what is going on.
Jinny- I am having a hard time explaining it. I just..it's hard. I have never told this to anyone. Not even my family.
Magda- We are your family. You can tell us anything.
Jack- We are here for you no matter what.
Captain- Definately. Please tell us.
Jinny- Okay. Well...
Jinny-You won't believe me if I told you.

*just then Jack walks in from the hallway*

Jack-Jinny......

Jinny- When I was a little girl, everyone always helped me but I pushed them away. I am just scared to do that to you. I pushed away my mother and she is dead. I pushed away my brother and he is dead. I am scared._
Captain- Well don't push us away. Allow us to help you._
Jinny- I will try. I promise._
A week later, she came home and there with her was Kate, Magda, and Jack. They were ready to help her start her new life._

A few minutes later....

Jinny-I don't think that I can do this. This is gonig to totally be the first time that I ever lived sober, and I don't know if I want to do that.
Magda-Jinny, I know that you can do this. You are my partner, and there is nothing that we can't do.
Jinny-Mag, you're right. I can do this.
Later that night while everyone else is asleep...
Jinny-I thought that they would never go to sleep. *pulls out a bottle of vodka* Now, I can really party.

Jinny went into a room where no one could hear or see her. She was very sure to keep quiet. She had lots of vodka, gin, and beer stashed in the room she went to. She drank all of them. No one knew this was going on so they continued to sleep.

The next morning, everyone woke up around 7:00AM. When they looked around the room, they noticed something different. One person was missing. That person was Jinny.

Magda-Jinny? Jinny, where are you? * looks everywhere but is afraid to find her since she is not answering back*
Jack-Magda.....look!

Magda- Oh my God.

*just as Magda walked in, and saw Jinny laying on the ground, the worst was just near*
Jack-Magda, don't tell me that she.....
Magda-I'm afraid that she did. Wake the Captain....she should be the first to know....
Jack-No, Magda, she's not dead!
Magda-No she's not, but she needs help. We need to take her to the hospital and then after that, put her into a rehab.
Jack-I'm her husband, can I make her go?
Captain-Only if you take her to court to get them to say that she is incompantant.
Jack-I don't know if I can do that.
Magda-It's for Jinny's life.

Jinny started to come out of it. Jinny stared up and saw Jack and Magda staring down at her.____________

Jinny- Hi Jackie! Hi Maggie! What am I doing on the floor? Did you two put me here?
Captain came in and saw Jinny on the floor. She shook her head.
Captain- What's going on? Why is Jinny on the floor?
Magda- She drank last night!_
Captain- Jinny..
Magda- It's no use. She won't listen until the hangover is over._

Jack called his lawyer to see what he can do about making her go into a a rehab while Jinny was starting to think right again.

Jinny- I'm sorry guys. I just couldn't do it.
Captain- Well I am sorry I have to do this Jin, but I have to.

Jinny-Have to do what?
Captain-I should only suspend you, but since I know that you will only hide it more.....I'm going to have to let you go.......
Magda-NO Captain! Don't do that.
Jinny-No Mag, don't worry about it, that just makes it easier for me to leave. Goodnight.

Having said that, Jinny walked out the door. Magda was about to run after her but stopped. She turned to Captain.
Magda- Captain, how could you do that?? You said she wasn't going to loose her job. You promised. Now we have no idea where she is. She could be lying on a street right now._
Captain- Listen, if she goes to rehab, I will gladly give her the job back but if she doesn't I won't. I don't know what else to do. She needs to get to rehab._

Jack just got off of the phone and walked over to them.

Jack- My lawyer said since she can't handle herself, if I went to court to have her put in rehab, I would have a good chance of winning. Where's Jinny?

Magda- She ran off. Captain fired her._
Jack- What???
Jinny went down to the Anchorside. She was tempted to go in until she finally did.

Bartender-Hey, I just got a call from Magda is it? She seemed worried, and wanted to know if you were here. I told her you weren't but I think that she wants to talk to you....let me get her on the phone....
Jinny-No that's ok....I was just leaving.

*just then Magda walked in*

Magda-How did I know that yuo woudl come here?

*Jack walked in.*

Jack-Jinny, unless you go into rehab, I am taking to you court and have them tell you that you are incompatent, and you need to go to rehab to save your life.

Jinny-Wait. To save my life?
Jack-Yeah, that's what the doctor said...didn't Magda tell you?
Jinny-No Mag, you seemed to let that out.
Magda-I didn't want to scare you Jinny. Besides I knew that if something bad would have happened that you would have done that just to go away.
Jinny-Fine you all are so worried about me....take me to a rehab center.....but I am over the age limit, and I can sign myself out anytime I want!
Jack-You're right Jin, you can......let's get you to a rehab.

*they arrived at the Caron Foundation*

Admissions-Yeah, my name is Jinny Exstead, and I am here to check myself in.......and how long did you say before I can get visitors? Ok, I will let them know.
Jinny-Mag and Jack, can you two and the Captain and CD come back in like 3 days. I'll be in detox until then.

Jack- Alright. Honey, you are doing the right thing.
Jinny- I know. This is going to be so hard though. I wish you could stay with me.
Magda- You can do this. I know you can.

After_a month_in there, she was able to go without having a drink. She had made it.
