Warner has decided to kill the unique label it bought. The phrase that comes to mind is "chewed up and spit out."

The Rhino moniker will still be around, but with a massive layoff that occurred this week, nobody is left from Rhino's independent days.

It's sad that everything's being swallowed up by four or five corporations.

Uniqueness, we hardly knew ye.

Is there going to be any quirky music left any more? (Hey, what's going to happen to the Elvis Costello catalog? )

I'm sure they'll still be available. Warners will just slap the "Rhino" label on it.

Another record label casualty happened last year when Universal killed MCA Records! Every artist who was on MCA is now on Geffen. I have the Who Tommy SACD with a Geffen label. Boy, does it look out-of-place.
