Thanks for posting this! This year that lead actress Emmy better go to Michelle! She totally got screwed last year (her Emmy clips that were supposed to be included for consideration were SOMEHOW left out). I am very happy that Sharon Case is nominated. I just knew she would be with the overly outstanding performances she gave this past year. The one thing I'm surprised about is Christen Khalil being nominated instead of Lyndsy Fonseca. I'm also surprised Thad Luckinbill isn't nominated. I can't wait for the show!

The noms included some huge surprises and shocking snubs!

Some names that should have been on the list but somehow weren't are-

Matthew Boomer and Aubrey Dollar, Ben and Marina, GL.

Erika Slezak, Viki on OLTL

Susan Lucci, and Alicia Minshew, Erika Kane and Kendall Harte, AMC

Lindsay Letherman, Georgie Jones, GH

Nathanile Marsden, Al/Micheal, OLTL

Katharine Kelly-Lange, Brooke, B&B

Ben Masters, Julian Crane, Passions

Deanna Wright, ???, Passions

Lynn Herring, Lucy Coe, Port Charles

Erin Hershey-Presley, Alison Barington, PC

Kelly Monaco, Livive, PC

Jess Walton/Jeanne Cooper, Katharine Chancelor/Jill Abbot, Y&R

Rebecca Budig, Greenlee De Pres, AMC

Some names that appeared on the list that were TOTAL surprises-

Ileen Kristen, OLTL

Tamara Braun, GH

James Reynolds, DOOL

Agim Kimba, ATWT

Brian Presley, PC

Kathy Brier, OLTL (A Good, no great Surprise)

Sharon Case, Y&R

Thorsten Kaye, PC- Probally one of the biggest surprises of the nominations. Why him and not Easton? i guess we'll never know.

Also a big surprise- AMC's virtual shut-out in the major categories (only two nods) and no best series nod. All the CBS soaps getting nodded and GH getting in over AMC for what was a very bad year for GH.

I agree that Jess Walton should have been nominated (Jeanne Cooper is at least getting a Lifetime Achievement award), but why is Sharon Case such a big surprise?

I'll be cheering on General Hospital again this year. Maybe Tony Geary will win this time, although I really feel that Maurice deserves it.

Well Case is one of the happy surprises. But the thing is that many people did not expect Case to make it in the line-up this year. It is a strong category and there are many others who we believed would get in before here, among them Rebecca Budig, Alicia Minshew, Tamara Tunie, Suzanne Rogers and so on. Case is a talented actress but her name was far lower on the short-list of potential nominees than many others, a surprise but a good one at that.

I see what you mean. Though, I was expecting her to be on the list. Now that I think more about it, Jeanne Cooper really did get screwed out of a nomination. She did excellent this year, especially with everything involving the stroke.

Yeah she did, ditto Jess Walton. Kassie De Pavia, Lynn Herring, SUSAN "The Queen Of Daytime Lucci", Catharine Hickland and a whole bevy of others.

Just to clear up confusion here is a list of performers who DID NOT SUBMIT their names this year (and hence did not get nominated)-

Robin Strasser as Dorian Lord, OLTL
Diedra Hall as Marleana Brady-Black-Evans, DOOL
Micheal E. Knight as Tad Martin, AMC
Julia Rose Barr as Brooke English, AMC

Those are the only names i can at this time confirm. But i'm sure there are several others.

Also Lynn Herring didn't submit her name is what I read :(

i've read conflicting reports about Herring, one mag i read said she didn't submit herself and one i read said she did. but i believe she may not have which would explain why she did not get pre-nommed.
