Who's better (in your opinion) Led Zeppelin or The Who?

Well, they're both great, but Zeppelin is consistently better.

The Who jumped the shark after Keith Moon's death. There were still some good moments, though. "You Better You Bet" and "Emminence Front" are both great singles.

Townshend and Daltrey are currently working on a new album. I can't believe they have the audacity to call it "The Who," when half of the band is dead. Robert Plant and Jimmy Page recorded two albums together in the 1990s, but called it "Plant/Page" instead of Led Zeppelin (they have more respect for the legacy of their band that Pete and Rog do for theirs, I guess).

So, to answer your question, Led Zeppelin. ;)

I picked the Who because of Pete Townshend's songwriting and John Entwistle's rocksteady bass, though I'd have had more repsect for them if they broke up once Keith Moon died, or at least once they realized that Kenney Jones wasn't going to fill Moon's shoes.

I'm more of a Zeppelin fan...maybe its because I've heard more of their material.

Tough choice. I love both bands, but I picked the Who by a narrow margin.

"You Better You Better You Bet" is the best friggin song ever!

Better than "Radar..." er, "Baba O'Riley?" :)

(I'm obsessed.)

Same here, but the songs of The Who I have heard I couldn't really get into.

Try this compilation (http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&uid=UIDSUB040403041918491716&sql=Au9sxlfaeacqp) if you ever get a chance. It covers their entire studio recording career from 1965-1982.

Yeah, they're both great bands, but I would have to go with Zeppelin.

Geez, hard choice because I love both bands music, but I'll have to go with The Who because for a man in his 50's, I still think Roger Daltrey is incredibly hot. He looks better now than he did in the 60's. I'd do him--yeah, like I would ever have a chance!!:p

Is that essentially the Russian edition of Led Zeppelin IV, Jenya, or is it a single of "Stairway To Heaven" (which was never released as a single in North America or the U.K.)?

You'll have to excuse me, as I don't read Russian as well as I used to. ;)

Nope. That's actually a Greatest Hits album that was released in the mid 1980's in Russia. It's hard to get. I guess you have to go to used record stores in Europe to find that album.

Here's what the Russian version of Led Zeppelin IV album cover looks like- It's quite different from the US, Canadian and British versions :)
