Ok, I'm just wondering...does anyone know if there is some sort of Emmy archive site? Basically, I'm interested in knowing the winners, as well as all the nominees in the field of comedy, probably from about 55 to the present. I know about the searchable, useless database at the Emmy site, and I have a book that lists the winners to 95, but I'm still curious to know about all the nominees...anyone?
I've been looking for something like this for a while!

Go to IMDB.com. I typed in the name of a person I knew who was atleast nominated for an emmy ( Ted Dansonin this case) and clicked on the awards & nominations link and this is what came up
for '93
http://us.imdb.com/Sections/Awards/Emmy_Awards/1993/
Hope that's the type of info you're looking for.
Uh, yes that's the info, but there seems to be some mistakes on that site...in the 1985 awards section, it listed Marla Gibbs twice as nominated for supporting actress in Jeffersons, and they also have written that only Cosby & Cheers were nominated for best comedy series...?
Other than that, and it being kind of hard to navigate, yes, that's what I was looking for...:)

Yeah, IMDB is the best site for movie and tv info I've seen but accept contributions from outside sources so there matbe some inaccuracies. Still if you need some info about a movie or tv show or actors it's a good place to check out.

I don't know of any online sites but there is one source that has info for everything television (or prime time at least). It's called "The Complete Directory to Prime Time Network and Cable Shows." They have a new updated version (I currently own a dated version that only goes up to 1996). It has information about every prime time show, old lineups that go as far back as the 50s, and the top 30 rated shows since the Nielsen's started going back the the late 50s (or early 60s, I can't remember which). Great book. I don't think any online site can match that.

I've tried numerous times to add emmys to people's lists but imdb never adds them.

Thanks for the link, but again, it's not what I'm looking for. I've used that search thing alot, and it's helpful if you need to know the nominations/wins of just one person or show, but it's not helpful when you want to know all the winners/nominees...
I also own that book...the 96 version also...I call it the TV bible :) That also only lists Emmy WINNERS, not the nominees...:(

I have a book that is called simply "The Emmys" It lists every single nominee in the categories with a star next to the winner. It goes back to the 1st annual to the date the book is published. Very very informative. Includes a breakdown of every awards ceremony as well.
That sounds like it's exactly what I'm looking for!!
So where can I buy it? Does the library have it?

Your library might have it. Here is a link to an updated version of the book. People are selling it used for only $1.66. This looks even more elaborate than my first edition book. Hope this helps:
