Personally, I'm not tired of her... yet, but I seems like the rest of the world agrees with most of you guys. In The Zone is selling terribly compared to the rest of her albums.

considering how poorly albums are selling these days, In The Zone isn't doing that bad. Toxic is the biggest hit she has had since Oops I Did It Again. It'll wind up probably matching "Britney" in sales. I don't think she'll have another Baby One More Time, but radio has started giving her less of a cold shoulder like they'd been doing last album around

I'm not getting tired of her. I think she is good-looking but her music is, well, let me put it this way: I don't know whether it is bad or is not my style, maybe a little bit of both.

Yeah, I'm getting kind of tired of Britney. Some of her songs are okay like Lucky and Girl in the Mirror, but most of her songs are bland. I know it sounds terrible, but when I first saw the "Me Against the Music" video with Britney Spears and Madonna I thought, what a perfect match for a duet. Madonna, I always thought was somewhat of a slut, but she makes up for it with her good lyrics in her songs. Britney, on the other hand, seems like she is basically selling her body and most of her songs aren't even that good. If Britney wants to be an artist that will stay around for the next ten years, she should try to write better lyrics for her songs.

Let me just say this one thing. She's talentless...she can't sing her way out of a paper bag..she only gets attention because she's a little ho...and that really pisses me off. Don't even make me go into her acting...because she's even worse at that. puke:

I suppose that is true. I remember around the time Madonna's Like A Prayer came out, seeing the Borderline video on VH1 and being shocked how "this is such an old video and song" and it was only 5 years old at that point, yet now I look back 4-5 years ago and it doesn't seem that old, tho I can see how Christina, Britney and Justin have definately changed. Hell, I am still shocked that it's been 10 years since Friends premiered and that Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little Pill is 9 years old.

true, but when I was 20 (which wasn't too many years ago), music that was big when I was 15 didn't seem "old" to me.

Oh well.... I actually really began to feel old today when I decided to put on Michael Jackson's Thriller album, and it dawned on me that album is TWENTY-TWO YEARS OLD now. I can remember being little and MJ and that album were so huge, and now all the music that was big when I was little are now 2 decades old, LOL

When you say "Jessica", do you mean Jessica Simpson? Because she is a sweet and wholesome girl. Have you seen her music videos? "With you", I Think I'm in love with you"(not the same songs), "Where you are", and I wanna love you forever", are good videos. And by "good", I mean innocent, fresh, and clean.

I agree the only teenpop singers I can stand right now are Jessica and Mandy Moore. Unlike with Britney I actually believed Jessica when she said that she was a virgin until marriage. She may not be the brightest bulb in the bunch but I think she's a great singer. But hey at least those other singers sing at their concerts Britney just dances around in trampy outfits and lip syncs. It's incredibly unfair for people to spend that much money on tickets and have her not even sing. She knows she sucks

Wob Reviews 'The Onyx Hotel Tour'

The Onyx Hotel Tour. Where do I begin? Once you've been a fan for so long, and once you attend all of her tours, going and seeing a new one on the opening night, doesn't only give you the butterflies due to the excitement, but you also feel a personal connection to the fact that you've been there since the beginning, watching the evolution of how the tours have evolved to break boundaries, and finally show and display who Britney really is today.

I have had an everlasting issue with Britney, ever since 'Britney' came out, and that was that, it became harder and harder to feel a personal connection to her because it was hard to figure out if something she was doing was because she truly meant it coming from her heart, of if it was something she did purely for the additive of her commercial image and well put out marketing plan.

Every fan knows that there came a period in Britney's career, when she lost touch with her fans on a personal level. Most people felt like it was due to that she became so big, and once you become so big, and you feel like, the meetings with 200 fans every day, the meet and greets and the 'Win a Contest to meet Britney sponsored by J-14' begin to get old, your perspective of your fans change. Her stalkers and the people that are out to hurt her multiply exponentially, and you're forced to distance yourself from your fans, for your own protection.

The Onyx Hotel Tour, brought the original feeling back, that I could actually feel that I was emotionally connected to Britney again. This tour does not have a catwalk, this tour features no waterfalls, no expensive props (i.e the waterfall, the music box on DWAD) and it features no pyrotechnics besides a few flames here and there. If anyone would have told me this before attending the concert, I would most likely have gotten disappointed, due to the fact that I as a fan, am used to Britney's people putting on productions of the century that are so technically advanced, that once you enter the arena, you feel like you're taken to a parallel universe, where Britney is the ruler, and the visual imagery, the choreography and the explosions, is what makes that parallel universe go around, and I'm of course talking about the Dream Within a Dream Tour.

The Onyx Hotel Tour had a little something, that none of her past tours have ever had, and it proved that, you could put on a concert that clearly showed it had less financial support from the label, but through genius thinking, turn it into a 2 hour emotional and inspiration rollercoaster that leaves you nothing but breathless during certain performances.

As we were on our way to the concert, I called up Britney's tour director and choreographer on my cell phone, I had not talked to him for a while, so I wanted to see what he was up to. When I called him, he automatically knew that I was on my way to San Diego and that was the reason why I was calling him. I asked him to give me something, something about that night's concert, that would get us excited.

He said, 'Well, I can't give too much away, but when Britney performs 'Touch of My Hand' and 'Breathe On Me', BE READY FOR IT'. As I was saying what he was saying out loud to the other people that were with me in my car, I heard shocks and screams because none of them thought that Britney was going to perform 'Touch of My Hand' due it's lyrical context.

The excitement grew. I hung up with him and proceeded to tell the girls anything else I had heard. I had with me 3 fans, Betsey, a friend of mine who's an assistant producer at NBC, Crystal, another friend of mine whom I met at Jay Leno when Britney was performing, and Lindsay, Crystal's friend. These three girls were in 3 totally different stages of their 'Britney Fandom', Crystal being the biggest one that felt so excited she would go into her own little world, where she would just sit still and stare at a point in space, where she would take herself to Britney World and almost shed a tear because of the excitement that was floating around us that day.

We met up with Chrystal (a different one) and her friend as we had dinner at the Mission Valley Beni Hanas. All 6 of us had dinner there, to later proceed to the San Diego Sports Arena. We arrived there at 8:20 PM while Kelis was performing. We weren't too excited about her, which is why we didn't arrive to the concert at 7:30 pm. As the ticking of the clock was approaching 9 PM, our anticipation grew. The arena was sold out, and there's nothing like a sold out arena packed with 15,000 fans who last time they saw Britney in concert was over 2 years ago.

After Kelis finished, the stage was prepped for Britney. At 9:01 PM the lights went out. It's very hard to explain in words what it feels like being in the middle of everything having so many people scream at the same time. The vibe around the arena was much much bigger than the one experienced during her DWAD tour. The volume of the screams grew louder as the minutes passed.

A drum beat was heard, another one following. The concert began. I saw 4 dancers suspended all the way up at the top of the stage through wires. They were waiting for their cue. My initial impression of the stage was much different from the one I expected. I initially thought it would look like something taken out of the show 'Hollywood Squares' due to that it was going to have a hotel feel. So here's how it looks. The middle of the stage has what looks like 4 or 5 sliding 20x10 screens, that together make a 40-50 feet vertical sliding elevator. The elevator is not actually there, it's more like a video of it. Out comes the host/concierge of the Onyx Hotel that to me looked very much like Boy George, but chunkier, with a violet outfit. He actually reminded me a little bit of that dude from Fox's 'My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiancée'.

Anyway, as he welcomed everyone into the Onyx Hotel, it was time for Britney to take the stage. She started out with 'Toxic' and the energy that she put into this performance was something out of this world. She came out on top of something that looked like a 1930's elevator lift, that had wheels, and sliding poles on the side.

The songs that she performed (and I will try to put them in order, but, I might have forgotten some) were Toxic, Showdown, Boys, Outrageous, BOMT, Crazy, I've Got That Boom Boom, The Hookup, Oops! I Did It Again, I'm A Slave 4 U, Everytime, Shadow, Breathe on Me, Touch of My Hand and the encore was Me Against The Music. I probably forgot to mention one or two, but you get the idea :). There was a part where she lol, at the beginning, hahaha....uhm.....she was like 'There are a lot of handsome guys in the audience today, if any of you is lucky enough, I might marry you'. She was such a tease. Everyone laughed.

Now let's proceed to what I was talking about before in regards to the feelings this tour will stir in fans. The Dream Within A Dream tour was overproduced, and the whole combination of the wire works, the bungee jump, the waterfall, the props and the explosion, left very little time for a relaxed moment where Britney could just sit down and connect with her fans. You might say she did it with Not A Girl, but nothing, and I mean, nothing compared to what she did on this tour with 'Everytime', and let me explain why.

The intro to 'Everytime' started with a video onscreen where Britney is seen walking around a garden/jungle with an outfit that camouflages her with her surroundings. As she's walking around the bushes, she spots a Piano in the middle of the garden decorated with plants, flowers and beautiful roses. She sits down on it, and that is when the video ends and the stage is lit up. The same Piano seen in the video is now seen in the middle of the stage. Britney comes out and takes a seat by it. This is when she began talking to her fans, and she said something like:

'The past 6 months have been like an extreme rollercoaster for me, I've made mistakes and I have been through many things that we all go through, including heartbreak. All of these things combined have made me stronger and it has made me who I am today, right now. I wrote this song, and it means a lot to me, it's called 'Everytime'.

Now, this entire time, the emotional level at the concert was at its highest. Fans were totally connecting with her, cheering and screaming louder than ever to a point where Britney was having a hard time beginning the song. The cheers grew even stronger and that's when she shed a couple of tears because it was like a affirmation to her how many fans still loved her and supported her despite everything that had happened, and everything that she had gone through, and when you have 15,000 fans acknowledging your heart for who you are, and nothing else, it's probably one of the greatest feelings in the world.

That was just the intro, and now, she began singing 'Everytime' and that's when it hit me. Everyone was singing along to a point where it was hard to spot her voice. I cannot even begin to explain how it feels to sing along with so many thousands of people, and having Britney in the center stage. Lighters were lit, and people were moving to the left and right. Everybody was so into it, it was an amazing feeling. A feeling you will experience soon !

Another really cool performance was 'Shadow' where she was raised all the way up with wires having a dancer to the left and a dancer to the right suspended in blankets only, doing aerobatics that were in synch with the powerful highlights of the song. It reminded me of a Cirque De Soleil performance and it was done in a very beautiful and artistic way. This is something that sets this tour apart from all the others. It has a lot of art, a lot of style, and one thing that you will experience that was barely seen in the other tours is that The Onyx Hotel features A LOT of ballet.

Now....to the controversy. This concert will get very harsh reviews by certain critics. They will do their best to send out their message to the parents asking them to NOT bring their younger kids to the show. When the 'Everytime' phase was over, which also included prior performances of songs from her older albums, we went into the now and future phase, introduced by Jada Pinkett Smith and the songs following were very, very sexual. Britney started off by doing a cabaret version of Baby One More Time (as heard in the 'In The Zone' ABC special) with a 1930's microphone that was an extension of a whip. Britney was wearing what looked like a traditional 'saloon' outfit with pantyhose, showing a lot, and I mean, a lot of skin, and that was just the beginning.

Here comes the juicy part, and I'm just going to let it all out!. The 'Touch of My Hand' performance is introduced by yet another video, where Britney's in her robe watching TV. As she's changing the channels, she switches to a channel that's showing her laying on the bed. At first she doesn't understand what's going on, but when she looks at herself laying there, she begins to get aroused. She then looks over towards the bathroom and her facial expressions show everything that you can imagine ;). The video shows her getting the tub ready as the water is pouring down, and everything is shot in a very, very sensual way. The video ends, and Britney takes the stage in the same white robe that she was wearing in the video. Next to her is a transparent tub.

She starts singing 'Touch of My Hand' and keeps the robe on for a minute or so, making everybody wonder if she's going to take it off or not. Suddenly, she turns around and takes it off, showing her entire nude body, only covered by a body suit very similar to the one shown in the 'Toxic' music video. Trust me, you see A LOT, lol. She then steps into the tub and this is when the wild stuff begins. All of this is happening on the left of the stage on an elevated platform, while there are 3 beds on the main stage where 3 of her dancers are laying there. They all being touching themselves, and Britney does the same.

There's even a part where Britney brings her legs up and spreads them ALL THE WAY while running her hands all the way down there. I think everyone was really, really shocked. This was followed by Touch of My Hand where Britney got on a mattress with one of her dancers and started simulating different sexual positions and sexual acts only by barely touching each other, only running their hands on top of their bodies and later making it look like they're grabbing eachother's sexual auras and putting it on themselves.

At the same time, those 4-5 screens that were originally used to simulate the Onyx Hotel elevator are now showing a pink background with silhouettes of people having sex, there was even one that portrayed people having a threesome. All of this while her male dancers on the other beds are shown taking all of their clothes off only to be left in tight boxer shorts. There were even two dancers portraying gay seduction.

So, if what I just said left you breathless, just wait till you experience this for yourself while you're there. I know this might be hard to believe, but that's fine, you'll see it for yourself :)

Everyone was shocked, I was like dying cause I couldn't believe what I had just seen. I think that this will spark a lot of controversy and critics will use this to advise younger fans and their parents to not attend this show. It is a very, very mature production and it depicts exactly where Britney is at right now. Even though this tour is much much simpler in terms of production than the DWAD it takes you into places that you had not been before in terms of how you connect with Britney.

Britney finished the concert with 'Me Against The Music' wearing a red outfit with a hat. Overall, the concert was both shocking and amazing. It left me breathless. It left everyone breathless. One thing's for sure. After seeing this concert, you'll never listen to 'In The Zone' in the same way again. Go see it, you're in for a surprise ;)

you're confusing HITS with SINGLES. By that logic, then Mariah had 3 or 4 hits off Glitter and Madonna had 4 hits off American Life. The ones I seperated are the only ones I would truly consider "hits". And even of those, only Baby One More Time and Oops I Did It Again were smash hits. Compared to the countless top 5 hit singles (and many #1's) that Michael and Madonna had scored in the 1980's, Britney isn't really that big singleswise

how is Jessica Simpson a whore and tramp? She turned down a movie role because it was too sexual, and she was infamous for not having sex with Nick Lachey until they got married. Also, while Christina presents a slutty image (even tho i think she's started to change for the better recently) you cannot deny she's got a good voice.

2.Senorita
3.Cry Me A River
4.Like I Love You
5.Pop
6.Girlfriend
7.Gone
9.Bye Bye Bye
10.It's Gonna Be Me
11.This I Promise You
12.Tearin Up My Heart
13.I Drive Myself Crazy
14.God Must Have Spent A Little More Time On You
15.I want You Back

I count all of these hits for Justin/N'Sync (I count Girlfriend as one song). No less than EIGHT (1, 3, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12) of those were bigger hits than any Britney song besides Baby One More Time.

pardon but do you even know what 'whore' and 'tramp' mean? justin and eminem are fully clothes.

and, this isnt directed at you, but britney and christina arent whores. just because they dress skimpy doesnt mean theyre sex crazed maniacs.

Christina, Justin, Britney, Eneneim, & Jessica are in the "whore and tramp" club!! Clay Aiken is a clean cut guy and has a good image and reputation for youth of today!!

First off... Eminem is anything but a whore or a tramp

But anyways, back to Britney... I don't think she's as bad as everyone says she is. People overreact like crazy about her clothes... but it's called performing. It's not like she goes to the grocery store wearing them.

But, she's not really getting on my nerves. She's taking a break, so now everyone can settle down.

She's the worst thing to happen to popular music in over a decade! She and her boy-group and teen-pop allies purged the grunge/alternative influence from the charts and brought us back to the way things were in 1991 - which Spin magazine referred to as a George Bush/Michael Jackson type of time!

The current music scene is in an awful state because of her and her ilk.

I love Brit. I miss her. Ever since Kevin Freeloader, shes been laying kinda low and letting herself go. I understand she wants a break and is taking time off, but before when she went out she dressed nice.. now she goes to gas stations barefoot in the bathroom. Ew. puke:

music was sucking again before she hit. I think the end of grunge/beginning of music purgatory was signalled by the one-two-three-four punch of Spice Girls, Hanson, P. Diddy (or Puff Daddy as he was then) and Backstreet Boys, all of which hit within a 6 month period in 1997.

the mainstream popular music today is terrible, but there are many musicians/bands out there today that are very talented

such as: rufus wainwright, cursive, the shins, the decemberists etc.

its just that the music industryis in a phase where they sign terrible, terrible r&b/rap acts that have very little talent.

Yes, but Britney is insisting on staying around long enough to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall fo Fame! The Spice Girls and the Backstreet Boys disappeared pretty quickly, and Sean Combs is known more these days for his clothing line than his hip-hop dance-pop. As for the three Hanson brothers, they could become the Bee Gees of the twenty-first century if they ever grow up!
