I'm pretty sure Chicago had a Ghetto like NYC bu for some strange reason, NYC was always mentioned like they lived in New York. Florida makes a statement about the EMPIRE STATE BUILDING instead of the Chicago SEARS TOWER. J.J made references to HARLEM but not the section of Chicago that was shown in the opening credits. I'm sure it's more but NYC seemed to be mentioned a lot. Especially Harlem. For NYC residents, was HARLEM THAT BAD????

Harlem at one point was a horrible place to live, but it has since been revitalized.

So Harlem was one of the worst places to live in the 1970"s? Do you know what made it so bad? It couldn't have been any worse than any other Ghetto.

Overall, New York was a bad place to live in the 70's because of high crime. I really don't know why Harlem would be catergorized as the worst place, but it was like any other ghetto of the time.

I just don't understand why they could not refer to the neighborhood used in the opening credits instead of Harlem. Maybe GT was a Maude spinoff-LOL Just joking.
