I think it was on the air in 1982 and I asked because I'm currently watching a orignal ABC broadcast of joanie loves chachi and i saw the promo for Star of the Family and was wondering if anyone saw this sitcom.
Star of the Family ended after 4 months after it's debut

OMG!! I can't believe I found this post. LOL. but yes!! I used to watch Star of the Family (I'm a self-professed TV junkie ;) ). I can't remember who was in it, but I do remember the older brother (the daughter was the "star") was totally gorgeous. I watched for him. do you happen to know who was in it?
