Seinfeld - Great news for Seinfeld fans!
Posted by Gord Lacey
2/27/2004

After months of negotiations and public outrage, the remaining cast members have signed on to the Seinfeld DVD set. The Globe and Mail features an exclusive interview with Jason Alexander in today's paper, and it's worth reading.

The situation has brought up a number of issues regarding payment for DVD participation and back-end residuals - information that isn't usually made public. Fans can rest easy knowing that all 4 cast members will be included on the DVDs. Just a reminder - the set should be out around Christmas, 2004 (a specific date isn't known at this time).

Thanks to "gangelo" for alerting us to the news.

Cool.
That seems the time frame we keep hearing. Seems inevitable for the release to happen. I'd say the sooner they do it the more they will sell.

10 months to go! Well, Feb is almost over and March always goes quick. April will see the weather get better and the summer months fly by. It'll go by like that.

Does anyone have a clue whether it is Season 1 alone or 1 & 2?

The last I heard it was going to just be season 1, but that could've changed.

If it was only Season 1 I dont see myself getting it unless its pretty cheap.

Nobody is gooing to pay $20 for 4 mediocre episodes of Seinfeld, though.

I read over at the "Home Theater Forum", a post (by Gord Lacey, who runs tvshowsondvd.com).... that says everything he has heard says that the first release will include both Seasons 1 and 2.

That makes more sense

I emailed Gord Lacey and asked him personally.... he said he's 99% sure that the first release will include both seasons.

Hopefully Season 3 (when the show REALLY hit its stride) wont come too far after.

Say, every 3 months?!

Seasons 1&2 -- December 2004
Season 3 -- March 2005
Season 4 -- June 2005
Season 5 -- September 2005
Season 6 -- December 2005
Season 7 -- March 2006
Season 8 -- June 2006
Season 9 -- September 2006

let's just get seasons 1&2 out first. It's already taken way too long. However, I could live with every 3 months.

Since Seinfeld has been playing non-stop in syndication for a while, I think it would benefit them bigtime to get as much out as soon as possible.

But knowing Jerry's inflated self-worth I'm sure he'll take his sweet time.

Did that sound bitter?

just a tad. ;)

Seriously though, I think it would be more beneficial to him to get them out as soon as possible.

I heard on the radio today that the Kramer, George, and Elaine signed on to talk on the DVD, but no word on Seinfeld doing it. Are they just not up to date or what?

Jerry and Larry David are behind it, so Jerry will definitely be talking.

Lox, if you don't have it, and are able to get, get the Curb Your Enthusiasm; Season 1 disk to hold you over.

That's what I did and it. I dig it and it quenched my sein thirst.

I think I'll skip the DVD. I'm not that big a fan of season 1.
